Why Is John McCain Lying About Libya?

Arizona Senator John McCain has often aligned himself with the left on a wide range of issues. But none of his previous alignments are as puzzling as his loyalty to the agenda of arming Muslims fighting in Syria. Let’s be clear… the people being armed in Syria are not our friends. In fact, they’re self-proclaimed enemies of Israel and the West.

Worse, they’re all linked to Al Qaeda.

In Syria’s largest city, Aleppo, rebels aligned with Al Qaeda control the power plant, run the bakeries and head a court that applies Islamic law. Elsewhere, they have seized government oil fields, put employees back to work and now profit from the crude they produce.

Across Syria, rebel-held areas are dotted with Islamic courts staffed by lawyers and clerics, and by fighting brigades led by extremists. Even the Supreme Military Council, the umbrella rebel organization whose formation the West had hoped would sideline radical groups, is stocked with commanders who want to infuse Islamic law into a future Syrian government.
Nowhere in rebel-controlled Syria is there a secular fighting force to speak of.

Read that last line again. “Nowhere in rebel-controlled Syria is there a secular fighting force to speak of.” Yet here is what McCain says about the fighters.

Critics of some lawmakers’ push to arm the rebels have expressed concerns that weapons could end up in the hands of militants who might eventually end up using them against the United States or its allies.

But McCain said such radical fighters make up only a small part of the rebels forces.

For example, he said, Syria’s Islamist al-Nusra Front, identified as an alias of al Qaeda in Iraq, accounts for only about 7,000 of the 100,000 fighters battling the government of Assad.
“Every single day, more and more extremists flow in… “They’re flowing in all the time, these extremists. But they still do not make up a sizeable portion,” the Arizona senator said.

They don’t make up a sizable portion? How is that possible when they actually make up theentire portion?

John McCain knows full well who we’re dealing with in Syria. It’s no secret these “rebels” are all Muslim extremists. Why isn’t he telling the truth here? And why is he so hell bent on arming people who want to destroy Israel?

We don’t need another Egypt situation. You know, one where we’re sending billions to a government that openly proclaims its desire to see the West weakened and defeated.
