Why is the Trump administration allowing an ongoing invasion of our borders?

The article goes on to say the above mentioned children were separated from 1,940 adults from April 19th to May 31st. This confirms there is an ongoing invasion [1,995 children and 1,940 adults in one and a half months] of our borders and the Trump Administration appears to be allowing this invasion to continue unabated.

Why is President Trump not putting the National Guard on the border with instructions to physically prevent these foreigners from entering our side of the border? Why is the Trump Administration allowing this invasion to continue and then making American Citizens tax-slaves to support the economic needs of almost 4,000 foreigners who have invaded our borders in just one and a half months?

At least Ted Cruz is offering a solution that doesn't call for a "catch & release" plan. He's also not calling for an amnesty. Personally, I like what Sessions is doing with the separating of children because I think it sends a strong message. I'm just hoping Trump won't fold like a cheap suit under all the pressure.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, on Monday announced a plan to introduce comprehensive "emergency legislation" designed to end unnecessary separations of illegal immigrant children from their parents. The bill, an answer to President Trump's call for a congressional solution to the situation, would double the number of immigration judges to 750 and mandate that illegal immigrant families be kept together, unless there has been "aggravated criminal conduct" or threat of harm to the children, according to Cruz's office.

The new legislation would also authorize new temporary shelters for immigrant families, and provide for expedited resolution of asylum claims within 14 days.

Nielsen urges Congress to fix immigration loopholes

DHS secretary defends Trump administration's enforcement of immigration law, insists the separation of migrant families was also done under previous administrations.
"All Americans are rightly horrified by the images we are seeing on the news, children in tears pulled away from their mothers and fathers," Cruz said. "This must stop. Now."

But, Cruz added, his Democratic counterparts have taken the wrong approach on the issue. "The answer is not what congressional Democrats are proposing: simply releasing illegal aliens and returning to the failed policy of 'catch and release,'" Cruz said. "Rather, we should fix the backlog in immigration cases, remove the legal barriers to swift processing, and resolve asylum cases on an expedited basis.

"While these cases are pending, families should stay together. Children belong with their mothers and fathers."

On Monday, all 49 Senate Democrats announced their support for the The Keep Families Together Act, introduced by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.

That bill has a different, even higher standard for separating kids at the border, and would generally only allow the practice if "there is evidence of parents abusing the children or children being trafficked." Under the Democrats' bill, "separation could only happen after consultation with a child welfare expert."

The Democrats' bill calls for an accountability report on asylum claims, but does not contain an equivalent to Cruz's provisions to accelerate the application process or to deploy more judges.
Under current law, adults can be separated from their families as soon as criminal proceedings against them are commenced.

The Trump administration's new "zero-tolerance" policy had led to an increase in these prosecutions.

But the administration has consistently said that the so-called Flores consent decree -- crafted during former President Bill Clinton's administration -- is what prohibits them from keeping parents and children together during these prosecutions, by limiting how long children can remain in federal custody.

"Kids need their moms and dads and we can keep the families together while these cases are pending," Cruz said Monday.

But he reiterated that the problem is not entirely new.

"President Obama held tens of thousands of children in detention centers who came illegally as immigrants," Cruz said. "Now, when Obama was president, the Democrats didn’t think it was a problem. ... But regardless, it was a problem then, it’s a problem now."

Cruz's announcement came shortly after a dramatic press conference in which Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen told a hostile White House press corps that Congress needed to act to ensure children were not separated from their parents.

No I don't think Trump will cave. What's happening now is the result of three Cabinet Secretaries defying his orders. Trump said to keep them out. They didn't do that, even though they could have. Trump sent Troops to the border to keep them out. Sessions went to the border to let them in. Trump says to keep them out "we're closed", Kirsten runs advertisements in Central America to "come to the ports of entry for asylum".

Trump will figure something out. It's a total clusterfvck at this point due to incompetence in the 3 Departments he called upon to avoid this problem. What a shame.

There's only 5,000 ICE Agents and there's 30 million illegal aliens. There are 21,000 Border Patrol Agents, 4 x as many Border Patrol Agents on the border as there are ICE Agents covering the entire United States. There are 35,000 FBI Agents, 7 times the number of ICE Agents, supporting 800,000 state and local law enforcement officers in the United States. There are only 5,000 ICE Agents.

There's only one solution at this point and that is to militarize the southern border with direct orders not to let anyone without papers into the country for any reason. Period.

The bottom line is, our President has inherent powers to act in emergency situations, and an invasion of our borders is such a situation. He needs to act and order the National Guard to forcefully prevent the invasion. Congress then has a 90 day period to respond.

Your comment on Sessions is not true. It's DHS that lets them in. Sessions went to the border to prosecute them and expedite asylum hearings for those seeking to apply for asylum. Unfortunately, Trump is not above our written law and can not stop asylum applications.

Trump has not ordered the National Guard to forcefully prevent foreigners from illegally setting foot upon our side of the border. And that is how you stop an invasion, and likewise stop separating children from their parents. Keep them on the other side of the border, even if force is needed.

Our country is under attack! Will we lose it to the poverty stricken populations of other countries who are invading us?

And what about Congress' power To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

We still have a lot of Obama holdovers and traitors in the administration against Trump agenda. It is a deep swamp and all these departments in this mess are causing a lot of these problems too.

All they do is talk in circles and nothing is getting done. Just like Comey...they will do what they want regardless of orders given.

Yep, but it's more than that. It's their competence level. Very low for what we need done. Border Patrol functions as a rescue operation. ICE is a round-up a few to make the news outfit due to their limited numbers. National Guard is rescue flood victims and show force at a riot entity or when called upon shovel horse shit for Border Patrol. Coast Guard is a rescue operation. The FBI is mostly a suits snooping outfit. The military, well, honestly, I don't know. They guard borders in other countries, but these are quiet borders, nothing going on, so I'm not even sure they have the competence to manage this. Their show of force down on the border certainly doesn't speak well for them either.

The bottom line is there's only one group of people in the United States who actually knows how to do this and has the manpower to do so, and that's state and local law enforcement, so until they decide to get involved and help our country solve this problem and the President issues an EO absolving them of any federal lawsuits or retributions for doing so, I think we may be sunk.

I still have a lot of confidence in Trump to help US solve this problem, but he has to get involved and figure this out himself. There is no one to help him, he has to do it himself. He has to draw up a plan utilizing state and local law enforcement with BP and ICE providing verification back-up on status, and convince state and local law enforcement to do this for US.

I think they'll do it, I think deep down they want to do it.

You more than welcome to disagree. However, Trump is not above the law and can't overrule it. Unlike Obama, he doesn't get a free pass by the leftist media. Furthermore, the liberals would scream bloody murder if Trump attempt to stop asylum applications. The scream would be worse than what we're hearing now on the child separation situation. Actually he would be impeached for it.

Same thing goes for AG Sessions, he can't ignore our asylum laws neither. DHS is responsible for the initial interview, not the DOJ. Sessions is attempting to expedite the hearing so those deemed not qualified by an immigration judge can be sent away quickly. Remember, we don't want catch and release. So, those cases clearing the first interview with DHS need to be heard by an immigration judge expeditiously so they can immediately be sent back to their homeland. As for Sessions prosecuting those that sneak across our border illegally, that's exactly what he needs to be doing and it should have been happening all along. If it had, we wouldn't be having the problem we are. We've allowed illegal aliens a "free pass" for to long. It's time they get the message there are consequences for their illegal act!
