(TPNN) – On Wednesday, The Blaze featured a story about a business owner who was being threatened with fines ranging from $250 to $550 per day if he continued to hang a Gadsden flag outside his establishment. Outraged, the man took to YouTube to share with others around the country the antagonism he was experiencing from the city council.
The city council in Ocala, Florida informed Keith Greenberg, who owns Gear Barrel, that it was okay for him to fly his American flag outside of his store, but the Gadsden flag had to be removed. Failure to do so would mean he would face hundreds of dollars in fines daily.
While city ordinance section 110-131 seems to outlaw the flying of any flag outside of the American flag, according to The Blaze, Greenberg provided pictures of two businesses who had flags other than the American flag outside of their establishments.

One was an Irish bar that had an Irish flag that appears to be hanging at the same level as the American flag. The other picture is where the even bigger story lies.

That picture is of Segovia Auto Sales. The owner has two American flags and two Mexican flags flying outside the dealership. But, in America, the Mexican flag appears to be flying much higher than the U.S. flag, which according to federal code is not allowed. While the U.S. Supreme Court said that the provisions laid out for how to display the American flag cannot be enforced because doing so would infringe upon one’s free speech, the very thing that Democrats are attempting to eliminate from the Constitution, it is outrageous that a city council would apply their city’s law to outlaw a flag that stands for freedom, yet allow the flag of another country to be not just flown, but displayed higher than the American flag.

A Florida small business owner said Monday the city of Ocala has threatened to fine him if he does not immediately take down a Gadsden flag currently displayed outside his store.

Gear Barrel owner Keith Greenberg told TheBlaze that the city said he was permitted to fly the American flag outside his store, but prohibited from displaying anything else outside his business which specializes in selling knives.

“This is a shock,” he said. “Honestly, I feel like this is Russia. I’ve been around the world … this is what you expect in really closed countries where there is no freedom of expression. Not here — so it’s shocking.”

The flying of the flag appears to be prohibited under the city code of ordinance, section 110-131.

Greenberg told TheBlaze he faces being fined up to $250-$500 per day if he does not comply. He said the potential fines would be devastating to his young small business, which he opened in May.

“The city of Ocala is demanding I take this down,” he told TheBlaze.



Greenberg posted a video to YouTube earlier this month trying to raise awareness of the move being made by the city.

“We find ourselves in a sad place where local municipalities are stepping all over people’s freedom with the signing of a pen,” he said.

Greenberg told TheBlaze he was even more perplexed by the city’s demands because he has spotted other flags being flown at nearby establishments.

Photographs forwarded to TheBlaze show an Ocala car dealership flying the Mexican flag and an Irish bar displaying the Irish flag. It was not clear whether or not the city had also issued similar notices to the other businesses.

The city’s code enforcement office could not immediately be reached Monday night for comment by TheBlaze.

The small business owner said his next move will be to address the city council at their next meeting.

Tricolor Auto in TX/OK flies a few American Flags surrounded by 3 times as many south of the border flags at the same height. Heck there is one OKC attorney office that flies a mex flag on the same pole as the American Flag, at least its above the mex flag but for how long.

The picture makes me think of this. AND I have the "Mexican Restraunt" in my town that feeds all the politicians and cops for free. He talks about the car sales lots also - all cartel owned.Think about the border area of Texas does this sound familiar?

Valdemar cited the following cities as having been infiltrated by the Mexican drug cartels: Lynwood, Bell Gardens, Hawaiian Gardens, South Gate, Huntington Park., Vernon, Cudahy.

Drug cartels set up phony businesses to launder drug money, usually used car lots, used tire shops that serve as a "front" for their operations.

Valdemar says it all starts when a small business, like a restaurant, is purchased by someone with drug money from Mexico, who sets up shop and starts inviting the city fathers to come for complimentary or discounted meals.

Then invitations are extended to local police and other government officials, until the business operator is well established, with powerful friends.

Drug money is used to send out smear campaign literature to destroy reputations of incumbent city council members and to finance the campaigns of challengers whose goal is to get a majority voting block on the city council.

Once the drug cartel controls the city council, they fire the city attorney, city manager and start giving out contracts, like the trash collection contract, to their cronies.
