Large Marijuana Bust in Madera County
Last Update: 9/18 5:47 pm

Madera County Sheriff’s Deputies and the U.S. Forest Service made a large marijuana bust involving three separate gardens near Bass Lake, North Fork and O’Neals.

One of the gardens was 25 acres with the plants between 14 and 18 feet tall. There were twelve people in the garden when deputies arrived, but they all took off running and got away.

Over 6,000 plants worth an estimated $20 million dollars were eradicated.

Authorities believe the suspects are part of a Mexican drug cartel.
