The group were taken to hospital, then arrested

15 people found on the back of a lorry on the M25 are now in the hands of the immigration service.

Emergency services were called to a sliproad off J31 on the anti-clockwise just after 3pm on Friday afternoon (April 22) after drivers were concerned that people were in the back of the truck.

The group were all treated by medics from the East of England Ambulance Service and taken to Basildon Hospital.

They were all later arrested on suspicion of having entered the UK illegally and were taken to Basildon and Grays police stations.

It is understood that some of them were Iranian.

An Essex Police spokesman said this morning that the group have been collected by the immigration service.
