Former ACORN CEO at Sharpton Convention: Amnesty Opponents, Voter ID Supporters Want USA Apartheid
Bertha Lewis, the former CEO of ACORN, claimed at Al Sharpton's National Action Network convention on Wednesday that opponents of amnesty and supporters of voter identification laws want to institute in America something similar to South Africa's apartheid.
President Barack Obama will address the convention on Friday and discuss voting rights issues and voter ID laws.
Speaking on a panel about immigration reform, Bertha Lewis, who is now the president and founder of The Black Institute, noted that America will soon "have a new majority, and that majority will be darker--black, and brown, and Asian."
Lewis, who headed ACORN until a sting operation orchestrated by the late Andrew Breitbart and James O'Keefe disbanded the organization, said there is a "great fear" of this "new majority."
She then said those who oppose amnesty and support voter ID laws want to put in place a "throwback" system that "suppresses the vote and the rights of new citizens in this country" so that they can have a "South African apartheid-type thing where the masters of the universe still rule."
"But that's not going to happen--because we're not going to stand for it," Lewis declared.
Lewis was on a panel moderated by Maria Teresa Kumar, the Voto Latino head who appears frequently on MSNBC, along with representatives from the White House, La Raza, the National Action Network, pro-amnesty organizations, and New York legislators.

It appears that she just changed the name and kept on doing the same stuff.
Comments from her site.
State chapters have incorporated themselves under new names. New York became New York Communities for Change. California became Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment. Texas became Texas Organizing Project. ACORN’s vote manufacturing division, Project Vote, still operates under the same name and small-c communist Frances Fox Piven still sits on its board. ACORN’s housing bubble generator, ACORN Housing, changed its name to Affordable Housing Centers of America. It’s the same people in the same offices and it just goes on and on.

The only groups that I have heard for apartheid have been the New Black Panthers and Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam and they weren't calling for the elimination of Blacks, Browns, and Orientals. They were too busy running back and forth to South Africa to see how it is done.
So much for discriminating against people based on the color of their skin and terrible it is. I believe that was her line a few years ago.
Obama opened this event and obviously agrees with it.Last edited by Newmexican; 04-11-2014 at 06:43 PM.
