Agents arrest gang members, rescue 2 from desert

A summary of Border Patrol activities in the Tucson Sector since Friday, provided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Arrests

Douglas Station agents apprehended a 15-year-old Mexican boy for illegally entering the United States Friday night. He admitted to being a member of the Sureños 13 gang. He was held pending removal.

Naco Station agents apprehended a Mexican man Friday for illegally entering the United States. The man claimed to be an active member of the Southern United Locos gang. He now faces prosecution for illegal re-entry.

On Saturday, Douglas Station agents arrested a man and three women from Mexico who were found hiding in an abandoned home in Pirtleville. They are facing formal removal proceedings.

Rescues

Casa Grande Station agents rescued a man from Mexico late Friday, who got lost after entering the country illegally. Agents responded when he activated a remote rescue beacon in the West desert. He was taken to the station for processing and removal.

Sonoita Station agents rescued a 34-year-old Mexican woman Friday who was suffering from cold weather exposure. She was transported to Tucson for medical treatment. Following her release from the hospital, she will face removal from the United States.
