Anti-Immigrant Forces Call for Boycott of Miller Beer

Anti-Immigrant Forces Call for Boycott of Miller Beer

    Sep. 27‚ 2006

(Ed. Note: San Francisco Bay Area residents are largely immune from the blatant immigrant-bashing now occurring in America. This press release from the AMERICANS FOR LEGAL IMMIGRATION PAC gives a sense of the grassroots strategies employed by anti-immigrant activists, whose broader campaign has won the support of President Bush and the Republican Congress)

Last week the Illegal Immigration Boycott Coalition passed the 100 supporting organizations mark and achieved over 12,000 petition signatures while the Dow Jones Newswires announced a collapse in SABMiller's stock value and beer sales in America! The boycott by immigration enforcement groups was brought on by September 1 reports in the Chicago Tribune that Miller Brewing Company gave $30,000 to pro amnesty organizations that support illegal immigration. Coalition members also determined that Miller gives large sums of money to race based organizations like La Raza (Translation: The Race)

According to the Dow Jones News Newswires (9/22/2006) SABMiller (SAB.JO) stock had fallen to 999p. This is a 6.02percent drop since the launch of the Miller Boycott on September 5 when the stock was trading at 1063p. Dow Jones reports that Miller Beer's sales are down in America more than other major companies.

Since the launch of the boycott, coalition representatives have been on over 25 talk radio programs and covered in several major media markets spreading word of the boycott. Over 12,000 people have signed the petition calling on the Executive Branch to enforce existing laws aimed at companies that hire, aid, and abet illegal aliens. Almost 1 million hits have been recorded on the boycott website at www.MillerBoycott.com

Coalition directors William Gheen of ALIPAC and Jason Mrochek of FIRE Coalition are announcing phase 2 of the boycott plan today!

"We are sending word to our extensive network today for citizen activists to begin spreading the word about the boycott using our online resources, such as bumper stickers, fliers, and e-mail templates." says William Gheen. "We also hope to expand our list of supporting organizations up towards 150 groups!"

Jason Mrochek is gives a glimpse of Phase 3 which will include citizens protesting outside of Miller Brewing Company production plants and offices. "Shortly after the November elections, we plan to launch protests outside of their facilities coast to coast." says Mrochek. "It is important for the communities close to these plants and the workers in these plants to know about our boycott that Miller Brewing supports illegal immigration."

    Subject: Please make this correction

    Beyond Chron:

Please correct the offensive, defamatory, and inaccurate information you have posted about us and our boycott of Miller Brewing Company at the following link...

    http://www.beyondchron.org/news/index.php?itemid=3724

You have described our organization ALIPAC as "Anti-Immigrant" in several locations on this page.

A significant portion of our volunteers and contributors are LEGAL immigrants. Would you thus describe us as the Anti-Immigrant Immigrants?

Also, our platform and organizational statements are clearly pro immigrant and in support of those that obey our laws and respect our citizens and nation.

We have not "won the support of President Bush" as President Bush is currently continuing to violate his oath of office and duties enumerated in the US Constitution to protect our nation and enforce the laws enacted by our Representatives in Congress.

While we at ALIPAC welcome those that disagree with our positions in the debate, we would appreciate it if you remained factual and honest in your descriptions of who we are and what we are about.

    Kind Regards,

    William Gheen

    ..What an excellent reply...
Never look at another flag. Remember, that behind Government, there is your country, and that you belong to her as you do belong to your own mother. Stand by her as you would stand by your own mother

    William, as usual, BRILLIANT!

This is awesome. I'm glad to see these results from everyon'e effort in this boycott. Down 6% in 3 weeks is quite a drop.

    Great response William!!
I looked around their website and this article really popped out at me as an example of their literary integrity. I think that they should consider moving their operation to Venezuela.

    Hugo Chavez is not anti-American
    by Tommi Avicolli Mecca‚ Sep. 22‚ 2006

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is once again being dismissed as “anti-American” by the mainstream media in this country for daring to say what many of us know is true: that our government’s policies throughout the world are more about control of resources than fighting terrorism.

Chavez is not “anti-American.” He is anti-George Bush. He is anti-U.S. government policies. So are millions of others (myself included), who have been marching and speaking out against those same policies since Bush first took office in 2000.

The latest charges of being “anti-American” come after Chavez addressed the United Nation’s 61st General Assembly on September 20. Commenting on Bush’s appearance at the UN the day before, Chavez said: “The devil came here yesterday. He came here talking as if he were the owner of the world.” The Socialist leader accused the U.S. government of “domination, exploitation and pillage of peoples of the world.” He said that our government was already supporting coup attempts to overthrow him, which comes as news to no one who knows anything about the history of U.S. involvement in Latin America.

In his 23-minute speech, which received thunderous applause from the almost 200 delegates present, Chavez made it clear that he was talking about the U.S. government and not the American people. In fact, Chavez credited the American people with wanting peace in the world: “If we walk in the streets of the Bronx, if we walk around New York, Washington, San Diego, in any city, San Antonio, San Francisco, and we ask individuals, the citizens of the United States, what does this country want? Does it want peace? They'll say yes. But the government doesn’t want peace. The government of the United States doesn’t want peace.”

    How is that anti-American?

Obviously, the use of “anti-American” in headlines and stories about Chavez is meant to inflame readers. It is not intended to be an accurate and non-biased description of Chavez’s speech. It is more and more the way the mainstream American media deals with dissent against the president’s policies. If there’s a Woodward and Bernstein in the press these days, they’re hiding for fear of being given a one-way ticket to Guantánamo--by their editors.

Chavez told the truth. He said things that the liberal Democrats in this country should be saying every day and in every way possible. Instead of demonizing Chavez, the American people should be grateful that finally a world leader has spoken out forcefully against a war that we hate and policies that put all of us at risk of more terrorist attacks.

Que viva Hugo Chavez! Keep on telling it like it is.
