May 28, 2010—Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich released figures from the Department of Public Social Services showing that in April 2010, $52 million in welfare benefits ($22 million CalWORKs + $30 million in Food Stamps) were issued to parents who reside in the United States illegally and collect benefits for their native-born children in Los Angeles County. This amounts to approximately 23% of all CalWORKs and Food Stamp issuances in the County.
In 2009, CalWORKs and Food Stamp issuances to illegals totaled nearly $570 million. The total costs for CalWORKs and Food Stamps for children of illegal aliens has risen steadily by an additional $1 million cost to the taxpayers each month since January 2009.
“When you add this to $540 million for public safety and nearly $500 million for healthcare, the total cost for illegal immigrants to County taxpayers far exceeds $1 billion a year – not including the hundreds of millions of dollars for education,” said Antonovich.

Excuse me, but Californians know why we are broke. Remember at one time like Arizona we tried to stop this. We didn't get support from the rest of the U.S., because it hadn't came to your doorsteps yet.And Californians wonder why their state is not able to pay bills any more?
Our state government is now full of hispanics due to the increase of votes from anchor babies, etc. I really don't like Schwarzenegger, but living here and watching our politics I have to say he has vetoed a lot of bills our legislature have tried to pass for illegal aliens. Like Cedillo's famous driver license bill for illegal aliens. Last count Cedillo has tried to get this past our governor 10 times.

Right on montereysherry, let's tell the truth about this. Does anyone really think Californians don't know why our schools are failing, our city and county budgets are running huge deficits, library closings, the only people with jobs in many California towns are the government workers and the ones working for non-profits who are making their living off of illegals and their needs.
