TUCSON - In the last day, Border Patrol agents in the Tucson Sector arrested one man who was wanted in Oregon for manufacturing cocaine, and seized over two tons of marijuana.
Early this morning, Casa Grande agents arrested a 32-year-old Mexican man for illegally entering the United States, according to a news release from Customs and Border Protection. A fingerprint scan revealed that he had an active felony warrant from Portland, Oregon for manufacturing cocaine. He will be turned over to Pinal County Sheriff's Office for extradition.
Also, during two incidents yesterday, agents working near the border in Arizona's west desert discovered a total of 49 bundles of marijuana with an estimated street value of $1.2 million, the release states. Ajo Station agents patrolling on ATVs tracked footprints leading to concealed bundles of the drug. The other bundles were found near the Baboquivari Mountains by agents using detection technology.
