PHOENIX - Gov. Jan Brewer plans to make a major announcement about SB1070 at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
She'll be joined by Attorney General Tom Horne outside the federal courthouse in downtown Phoenix. That's the same court where a federal judge blocked some key provisions of the controversial law.
Brewer and Horne will address Arizona's defense of SB1070, and the states continued push for enforcement at the border.

The last 2 post on facebook from Governor Jan Brewer
Governor Jan Brewer: On Thursday afternoon, I'll be making a significant announcement along with our Attorney General regarding Arizona’s defense of SB1070 and the state’s continued push for border enforcement. I'll make sure to keep everyone up to date on my facebook page.

Governor Jan Brewer: Never during our nearly 100 years of statehood has federal interference in Arizona’s affairs been more blatant than in 2010. We must demand that the federal government secure our international border, overturn the 2010 health care reform and its unconstitutional mandates on states, employers and citizens, and free local... jurisdictions from unnecessary federal oversight of local elections.

Brewer: AZ to file claim against US Gov
Gov. Jan Brewer announces Arizona to file counter claim against US government

PHOENIX - Governor Jan Brewer and Attorney General Tom Horne announced Thursday afternoon that Arizona is filing a counter claim against the federal government for their failure to uphold constitutional obligations.
Brewer said Arizona will file the counter claim on five separate counts:
1. Failure to obtain operational control of the border
2. Failure to enforce immigration laws
3. Failure to protect Arizona from harm from immigration
4. Failure to reimburse Arizona for more than $763 million in costs for incarceration of criminal aliens
5. Violating Arizona's 10th Amendment, failure to protect Arizona citizens' welfare
The counter-claim comes after the federal government sued Arizona last summer after the state passed SB1070, a strict law that allows the state to crackdown on undocumented immigration in new ways. That law is currently under review in a 9th circuit court, and has not fully been implemented.
The Associated Press reports a judge blocked the most controversial portions of the law, such as a requirement that says police, while enforcing other laws, must question people's immigration status if there's a reasonable suspicion they're in the country illegally.
During her remarks Thursday, Brewer said our border and immigration systems are still broken.
"Arizona did not ask for this fight," Brewer said. "Arizona will not rest until federal immigration laws are enforced."
Brewer also announced that Horne will join the fight against the federal government, and take the lead on filing the counter claim.

I think this is so funny because its all happening on Obama's watch and he can't blame Bush for this one he has bitten off more than he can chew with this one. 'YOU GO GIRL." I'm on the Governor's side on this one Obama just knew he was doing something when he decided to sue the state of Arizona and, I'll be willing to bet that he never thought it was going to come back and bite him in the Butt Now, I think every state should file a friend of the court on behalf of Arizona. "THEY BRING A KNIFE, WE BRING A GUN." WHAT WAS HE THINKING

After reading the actual lawsuit filing I see this as also an attack on the Supreme Court. If they rule for Obama and not for the US Constitution its sufficient to create hearings against whatever SC judges rule against. Such would be enough to fire or force retirement of such judges come 2013. If the SC rules in favor of the people the Obama administration is in a very hard spot basically forced into compliance.
Any judge who stands with Obama will need to clearly explain how they think the US Constitution says Obama is right and Arizona is wrong.
