Brewer, Republicans denounce immigration memo

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer joined other Republicans in reacting negatively to an Obama administration memo that could allow more immigrants to gain legal status without congressional action on immigration.

The Obama administration immigration memo outlines ways to liberalize and expand citizenship and immigration visa programs — including for investors and workers — without approval from Capitol Hill.

Republicans, including Brewer, voiced concern that the administration efforts could amount to amnesty for illegal immigrants already in the U.S.

U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, released the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services memo Friday. The administration memo outlines some ways the federal government might allow more immigrants to gain legal status without legislative approval.

“It’s a little breathtaking, isn’t it, that a memo like that would surface.â€

Obama can't possibly be that stupid? If he is, we won't have to wait for November.
