CBP Seizes Nearly $3 Million Hidden in Bus Bound for Mexico

Laredo, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Lincoln-Juarez International Bridge in Laredo, Texas yesterday discovered 75 bundles of undeclared currency inside a compartment on a commercial bus. The almost $3 million of currency were seized.

Just before 9 p.m., CBP officers working southbound enforcement operations at the bridge conducted a routine examination of a 1998 Dina commercial bus with several passengers. During the examination, CBP officers obtained a negative declaration for firearms, ammunition and monetary instruments in excess of $10,000 from all the passengers.

CBP officers in Laredo, Texas seized almost $3 million in cash found under the floor of a passenger bus entering Mexico.
