DANBURY -- A 25-year-old city man was arrested Saturday after police say the man forcefully pinned his girlfriend's son between a couch and a wall.

Roberto Mino, of Franklin Street, was taken into custody about 6:20 p.m. and held on a Customs and Immigration Enforcement detainer and in lieu of $100,000 bond, according to Danbury police spokesman Capt. Thomas Wendel.

Wendel said Mino and the boy were sitting on a couch in the girlfriend's home when the boy somehow became wedged behind the sofa, Wendel said.

Mino then got up and started pushing the couch, "squeezing" the boy against the wall for about a minute, Wendel said.

It was unclear whether the woman was home at the time of the incident.

Mino was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, disorderly conduct, first-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury and criminal attempt of second-degree assault, police records show.

Mino was also being sought on a warrant for third-degree assault and third-degree strangulation, for which bond was set at $15,000, Wendel said.
