Danbury Police: Men Deported in 2011, Charged Saturday with Trespass, Held on New ICE Detainers
Danbury Police said two men deported from Danbury in 2011 were caught trespassing in Danbury Saturday. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.
Danbury Police said two men caught trespassing in a West Street basement Saturday at 1 a.m. were the same men who were deported from Danbury in 2011. Both men were held on ICE detainers by police Saturday.
Police were called to a West Street apartment house Saturday by a mother worried her underage daughter was at a party in the basement drinking with men. Police checked, but they didn't find the daughter or the party. As the officers walked back upstairs, a man came out of a first-floor apartment and told the officers three men were drinking in his basement. He asked them to leave, but the men wouldn't leave. Police walked down to his basement, and called for them to come out. When police found them, they charged Walter Flores, 20, New Street, with first-degree criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer. Police charged Roberto Tejeda, 20, Spring Street, with first-degree criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer. Tejeda was also held on an ICE detainer. Police charged Javier Ceballos, 22, Victor Street, with first-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer. Ceballos was also held on an ICE detainer. Danbury Police Department Shift Commander Shaun McColgan said both Tejeda and Ceballos had been deported in 2011.
