Judge dismisses second suit against SB1070 Thursday, September 02 @ 00:23:01 EDT by jean (141 reads) | A federal judge dismissed the second of six suits filed against Arizona’s strict new immigration law, ruling that a Tucson police officer did not have standing to challenge SB1070.
U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton on Aug. 31 granted Gov. Jan Brewer’s motion to dismiss the suit filed by Officer Martin Escobar. The suit was the first of six filed to seek to overturn SB1070, and the second dismissed by Bolton in the past week.
“I strongly believe that Arizona will ultimately prevail in all of these legal challenges. My defense of the rule of law will continue,” Brewer said in a press statement.

Department of Justice sues Arizona school system Thursday, September 02 @ 00:00:14 EDT by jean (73 reads) | Keeping the heat on Arizona’s immigration policies, the U.S. Justice Department has sued a Phoenix-area community college system for allegedly discriminating against non-citizens by requiring them to show extra paperwork before they could be hired.
The suit, filed against the Maricopa County Community College District on Monday, comes less than two months after the Justice Department sued Arizona over the state’s tough new law targeting illegal immigrants. The department also is investigating possible civil-rights abuses by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a border hawk who calls himself “America’s toughest sheriff.”

ALIPAC is responding to an ambush lawsuit filed by RightHaven LLC &
Las Vegas Review-Journal alleging copyright infringement by William
Gheen and the national illegal immigration fighting group Americans for
Legal Immigration PAC which hosts the largest archive of information in
existence on the topics of border security and illegal immigration.
"We stand ready to defend our free political speech and the free speech
of all Americans against predatory companies like RightHaven and biased
newspapers that would use the courts to try to generate revenue and
silence the free speech of Americans," said William Gheen President of
ALIPAC. "We intend to defend our organization, our rights, and our good
name with every possible resource."
"RightHaven is suing ALIPAC over an article titled "'Latino Summit': (US
Senator) Reid addresses Hispanic issues", which ran in the Las Vegas
Review-Journal on Feb. 18, 2010. The article describes US Senator Harry
Reid's promises to a Latino group that he would support a form of
Amnesty for illegal aliens in America. The article also describes how
many Democrats are backing away from Reid's Amnesty legislation due to
"recent loss of several high-profile seats to Republicans"

Fake Poll Warnings: We are not alone! Tuesday, August 31 @ 14:17:06 EDT by admin (4793 reads) | Friends of ALIPAC and members of the American
media,
By now, many of you may have heard that both Fox News and CNN conducted
polls in the last thirty days with some surprising results. According to
the Fox News poll done via the firm Opinion Dynamics on August 10-11,
2010; a whopping 68% percent of Americans favor "giving illegal
immigrants who pay taxes and obey the law a second chance by allowing
them to live in the United States"!
Looks like FOX NEWS was following the lead of CNN when they released a
poll run by the Opinion Research Corporation on July 16-21, 2010
claiming that 81% percent of Americans favor "creating a program that
would allow illegal immigrants already living in the United States for a
number of years to stay and apply for US citizenship provided they are
employed and payback taxes."
Isn't that amazing everyone? An astounding 68%-81% percent of Americans
want illegal aliens to stay and become voters.
Not only are we scoffing at this flagrant abuse of the truth that should
be prosecutable as mass fraud, but so are the candidates for public
office that have run their own polls in their districts.
These fake polls are the best money can buy and they are designed to
confuse you, the candidates, and Congress.

Survey finds 70 percent support for deporting illegal immigrants Tuesday, August 31 @ 08:51:53 EDT by jamesw62 (428 reads) | A strong majority of American voters want
serious action taken to solve the illegal immigration problem –
including 53 percent who say children born to illegal immigrant parents
should not be automatic citizens, and 70% who say it’s important to
locate and deport those residing in the U.S. illegally – according to a
recent poll by Zogby International.
The poll was conducted August 20-23, surveyed 2,062 likely voters,
and asked: The Constitution provides that all children born in the U.S.
are automatically U.S. citizens regardless of their parents’ status.
Should Congress pass an amendment to prevent children born in the U.S.
from becoming citizens unless one of their parents is also a U.S.
citizen?
A majority of respondents, 53 percent, said Congress should pass a
law to prevent children born to non-citizen parents from being
automatic citizens, and 39 percent said no such law should be passed.

Appleton—The Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee
(ALIPAC) is endorsing state Representative Roger Roth in Wisconsin’s 8th
Congressional District race.
President of ALIPAC William Gheen said the organization is happy that
Roth has “chosen to represent the vast majority of American voters that
favor immigration enforcement instead of any form of amnesty for illegal
immigrants.”
Roth has always advocated securing our borders and enforcing existing
immigration law, and his record in the state legislature proves it.
In the state Assembly, Roth authored legislation to ban sanctuary cities
that harbor illegal aliens in Wisconsin, and he fought to ensure that
prisoners who are in this country illegally be deported instead of put
back on the streets when they are released from jail.
ALIPAC is dedicated to fighting against illegal immigration and amnesty
for illegal aliens while seeking a peaceful solution to the crisis that
involves Americans of every race, Party, and denomination working
together.

Take Action to Stop King Obama's Executive Order Amnesty Monday, August 30 @ 12:26:03 EDT by admin (784 reads) | Friends of ALIPAC,
By now, most of you that are reading our homepage on a regular basis
know that President Obama has ordered Amnesty for illegal aliens without
a debate or vote from Congress.
This is the action of a king or despot, not a president and since Obama
is not a king, we know what that makes him.
He has ordered the Border Patrol to back away from the border in some
areas and in other areas they are either not stopping illegals or
catching them and releasing them. Fines against employers are a trickle
and slaps on the wrist while all raids have been halted.
Now, tens of thousands of illegal aliens are having their cases
dismissed before their deportation hearings.

A national group that opposes comprehensive immigration reform endorsed
21 federal candidates this week, including three long-shot challengers
seeking congressional office in Texas.
Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee, or ALIPAC,
said they unveiled their endorsements in races where there is a clear
decision for voters between immigration law enforcement and amnesty.
"We are looking for candidates who want our existing border and
immigration laws enforced instead of comprehensive immigration reform
amnesty that would make millions of illegal new voters and thus destroy
the borders in America," said William Gheen, ALIPAC president.

It is now imperative that members of Congress from both parties must
fully unite in September to block the unconstitutional illegal alien
amnesty program now underway by federal immigration courts under orders
from the Obama Administration.
"The President is now in direct violation of U.S. immigration law
and the Constitution through this order to bypass the Congress and
issue what amounts to a royal amnesty decree for an initial 17,000
lawbreakers," says Carter.

287(g) Some communities left out of immigration program Sunday, August 29 @ 14:31:43 EDT by williamg (201 reads) | ATLANTA - Several Georgia communities have been
rejected from participating in a federal program aimed at helping local
authorities remove illegal immigrants who are dangerous from their
communities.
Critics say the program could encourage racial profiling.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's office confirmed to The Atlanta
Journal-Constitution that the agency was among those rejected. The
taxpayer-funded program allows local officials to investigate
immigration status of people arrested and jailed for other crimes.
Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison told the newspaper that he
applied for the money in 2008 and had not yet received an answer. A
spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the
county's request is still under consideration.
