BECKLEY -

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia announced on Tuesday that a man who was deported has come back to the United States and was living in West Virginia.

Francesco Gulino, an Italian National, was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison for illegal reentry into the United States. Gulino was deported to Italy on April 20, 2011 after spending time in jail for attempted felonious assault.

Two years, to the day, after Gulino was sent back to Italy, agents with the Department of Homeland Security found Gulino living in Raleigh County. He admitted to the agents that he had been sent back to his native country, but was able to get back into the United States through Canada.

When Gulino's prison time is up, the Department of Homeland Security has said that they will once more take action to deport Gulino. The Raleigh County Sheriff's Office assisted the Department of Homeland Security in the investigation.
