Dolores Huerta Mic Cut During 'Si Se Puede' Chant

Dolores Huerta, who co-founded the National Farmworkers Association with Cesar Chavez, spoke on the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream Speech" on Wednesday--and her mic was promptly cut when she tried to lead the crowd in chanting, "Si se puede."

She asked the crowd to clap together and say, "Si se puede" (which means "yes we can" in Spanish); her mic was cut as she was vigorously clapping and attempting to lead the chant.

Huerta called on those in the crowd to reach out and organize to people of all communities and led the crowd in various chants, such as a "people power" chant, before attempting to lead the "Si se puede" chant.

LeAnn Rhymes then came on stage after Huerta to sing "Amazing Grace."
