Fight leads to fatal shooting in Conroe

Conroe Police are searching for a Honduras man charged with an early morning fatal shooting of a Conroe resident.

Noel Cristino Solis, 35, fled the scene after he allegedly shot Oscar Rolando Pavon, 38, several times in front of a home in the 500 block of West Santa Fe Street.

Conroe Police dispatch reported receiving a disturbance call involving a firearm at 5:10 a.m. Sunday. Officers arrived to find Pavon’s body.

Conroe PD Sergeant Joe Smith said the investigation revealed Solis and Pavon had been in argument, which escalated into a physical fight. Solis left the resident , but returned later.

It was during that second confrontation that Solis allegedly shot Pavon several times.

According to Conroe Police, 11 shell casings were recovered at the residence where the shooting occurred. Investigators used power saws to cut some of the forensic evidence out of the wood floor.

Smith said local law enforcement does not have a prior criminal record on Solis. Conroe Police has secured a warrant for Solis’ arrest on the charge of murder.

George Rivera, of Conroe, was sitting in the front yard next to the house where the shooting occurred. Rivera said he had know Pavon for 14 years.

“He was a good guy,” Rivera said.
