What a ridiculous argument! But I do remember Bush during his visit to India when he tried to explain why we had to outsource American jobs to India. He basically told Americans "yes, its very hard to lose a job, but we have to suck it up and try to move on". "Otherwise, we would be considered Protectionists, and what kind of message would that be sending to our friends, who benefit from Globalization?" Maybe its not word for word, but its close!
