Whenever California farmers are in the news promoting immigrants or lobbying for illegal aliens, their products will be on the Do Not Touch List.

Like the musicians and artists who don't understand Americans need good jobs to buy their movie tickets and CD's, California Growers need to learn that Americans can go a lot longer without California farm products than California farmers can go without American buyers for their products. See, if we want a foreigner to pick our food, we'll just buy the foreign product, pay less for it, and save our water supply to boot!

No, they take jobs from illegal aliens and immigrants in blueberry fields, people who shouldn't be here to begin with. Machines create good jobs for American Workers, engineers, manufacturing workers, steel workers, electronic workers, factory personnel, technical personnel, vendors, contractors, suppliers, construction, maintenance, distribution, sales, advertising, and on and on and on and on.

And furthermore, there are strawberry harvesting machines, too, that will be replacing these workers.

Robots Step Into New Planting, Harvesting Roles

Labor shortage spurs farmers to use robots for handling delicate tasks in the fresh-produce industry

    By Ilan Brat
    Updated April 23, 2015 6:54 p.m. ET

OXNARD, Calif.—A 14-arm, automated harvester recently wheeled through rows of strawberry plants here, illustrating an emerging solution to one of the produce industry’s most pressing problems: a shortfall of farmhands.

Harnessing high-powered computing, color sensors and small metal baskets attached to the robotic arms, the machine gently plucked ripe strawberries from below deep-green leaves, while mostly ignoring unripe fruit nearby.

Such tasks have long required the trained discernment and backbreaking effort of tens of thousands of relatively low-paid workers. But technological advances are making it possible for robots to handle the job, just as a shrinking supply of available fruit pickers has made the technology more financially attractive.

“It’s no longer a problem of how much does a strawberry harvester cost,” said Juan Bravo, inventor of Agrobot, the picking machine. “Now it’s about how much does it cost to leave a field unpicked, and that’s a lot more expensive.”

The Agrobot costs about $100,000 and Mr. Bravo has a second, larger prototype in development. Other devices similarly are starting to assume delicate tasks in different parts of the fresh-produce industry, from planting vegetable seedlings to harvesting lettuce to transplanting roses.

The days of flooding this country with illegal aliens and unneeded immigrants for farming purposes is soon coming to an end. And not a day too soon. Until then, hire American Workers, or let it rot.

    California Wineries

Vineyards dot Central Coast hillsides & valleys. Stop to taste local offerings such as the Muscat Canelli, available at Edna Vineyards. A demonstration center (above) shows the progression of grape and vine growth as applied to wine production. A beautiful, new tasting room with a gift shop and special seasonal events keep guests returning.

There are over 400 California wineries and many of them export to 165 markets worldwide.

The U.S. ranks as the fourth leading wine producer in the world with the United Kingdom #1 consumer of California wines internationally.

See full list of California Wineries

Increased winery marketing efforts and consistent vintages have generated interest in California's growth industry.

The posted sign (right) directs travelers to wineries located off California Highway 101 near the cities of Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo.

As you travel north a few miles beyond Santa Maria, you'll see Laetetia Vineyard on the right hand side of the road. Turn in the gate which is open during business hours and drive up the hill to the wine tasting room. Picnic tables allow guests to sit outside and enjoy a breathtaking view of the hills and highway.

There you can obtain maps and directions for the rest of your tasting tour.

As for prices, you sometimes can find the same wines sold in local grocery stores for a similar price or even less.

If you are a member of Costco, stop at the one visible off Highway 101 in Santa Maria to check out their local inventory and prices. Costco annual membership is around $40. BUT, if you like something and are just passing through, don't count on it being available outside the vineyard.

    • The hillside tree above is located at Corbett Canyon Winery, a gorgeous place but not always open to the public, unfortunately.

    • Be forewarned that California has stiff penalties for driving under the influence of alcohol. A designated driver system for wine tasting and touring is essential. There are numerous wine coach buses available, especially in Napa wine region.

I think it's time you put the wine bottle down. Otherwise, people might get the idea that you support welfare-sucking illegal aliens and immigrants coming into the United States to work on farms and steal jobs from Americans.

How dare you say something like that to someone who's been around here fighting against illegal aliens as long as I have.

Sure! Low-wage seasonal temporary work is best for machines. That's progress, that's efficiency, that's how you reduce costs. Americans have always preferred full-time work in factories with benefits to seasonal farming work when these jobs are available. Mechanizing farming to eliminate the migrant worker is by far and away the best way to go. New machine factories will be built that wil provide good jobs for Americans, while eliminating the immigration problem. There are all types of picking, planting and harvesting machines ready to hit the market as soon as we stop illegal immigration and get these people out of here.

Do you remember the article posted recently that reported 87% of illegal aliens are on welfare and 72% of legal immigrants are on welfare?

Report: America attracting poor, uneducated immigrants

    By Paul Bedard (@SecretsBedard) • 9/10/15 4:30 AM

The helping hand offered by social welfare programs is being utilized by most legal and illegal immigrant families, the latest sign that many immigrants come to America for the taxpayer-funded benefits like Medicaid, subsidized food and cash, according to a new report based on Census data.

In analyzing new Census reports, the Center for Immigration Studies found that immigrant families with one or more children use welfare far more than "native" American families.

"Welfare use by illegal immigrant households is certainly a concern, but the bigger issue is welfare use by legal immigrants," said Steven Camarota, the Center's director of research and author of the report.

"Three-fourths of immigrant households using welfare are headed by legal immigrants. Legal immigration is supposed to benefit the country, yet so many legal immigrants are not able to support themselves or their children. This raises important questions about the selection criteria used for legal immigration," said Camarota.

The report highlights the economics of immigration, especially illegal immigration, and comes as Syrian refugees are seeking to settle in European nations that provide rich welfare benefits.

The report also suggests that America is attracting poor and uneducated immigrants.

"Low levels of education — not legal status — are the main reason immigrant welfare use is high," said the Center's preview of their report, released Thursday.

It shows that legal immigrant households make extensive use of welfare, while illegal immigrant households primarily benefit from food programs and Medicaid through U.S.-born children.

According to the report, provided in advance to Secrets, "Households headed by legal immigrants have statistically significant higher use of welfare than native households overall, and for cash and food programs as well as Medicaid. This is the case a decade and a half after the 1996 welfare reform law, which was supposed to greatly limit immigrant access to the welfare system."

It added: "If one assumes that legal immigration is supposed to benefit the country, then immigrants allowed into the country should have much lower rates of welfare use than natives. However, our best estimate is that nearly half (49 percent) of households headed by legal immigrants used at least one welfare program in 2012."

Other key findings pulled from the report:

    — Legal immigrant households account for three-quarters of all immigrant households accessing one or more welfare programs.

    — Of legal immigrant households with children, 72 percent access one or more welfare programs, compared to 52 percent of native households.

    — Of households headed by immigrants in the country illegally, we estimate that 62 percent used one or more welfare programs in 2012, compared to 30 percent of native households.

    — Households headed by immigrants illegally in the country have higher use rates than native households overall and for food programs (57 percent vs. 22 percent) and Medicaid (51 percent vs. 23 percent). Use of cash programs by illegal immigrants is lower than use by natives (5 percent vs. 10 percent), as is use of housing programs (4 percent vs. 6 percent).

    — Of illegal immigrant households with children, 87 percent access one or more welfare programs, compared to 52 percent of native households.

    — Education level plays a larger role in explaining welfare use than legal status. The most extensive use of welfare is by less-educated immigrants who are in the country legally. Of households headed by legal immigrants without a high school diploma, 75 percent use one or more welfare programs, as do 64 percent of households headed by legal immigrants with only a high school education.

    — Restrictions on new legal immigrants' access to welfare have not prevented them from accessing programs at high rates because restrictions often apply to only a modest share of immigrants at any one time. Some programs are not restricted, there are numerous exceptions and exemptions, and some provisions are entirely unenforced. Equally important, immigrants, including those illegally in the country, can receive welfare on behalf of their U.S.-born children.

    _____________________

The core issue of our organization is to stop illegal immigration, deport illegal aliens, and reduce excess immigration so there are no illegal aliens or excess immigrants in the country stealing jobs from Americans or sucking on welfare at taxpayer expense while pushing more Americans onto welfare due to unemployment or deflated wages they can't live on. When machines can do the work efficiently without imported labor, then Americans either do the farm work at a wage they can live on or they work in the factories that build the machines that do the farm work and have great jobs with benefits that not only sustain them but build a great future for them building the machines.

It's no different than paying someone to cut your lawn with a hand shear that would take them 2 days or a John Deere lawn mower that can do it in 30 minutes.
