Insurance checkpoints wind up arresting illegal aliens
Insurance checkpoints wind up arresting illegal aliens
Created: June 2, 2008 05:00 PM
A checkpoint looking for drivers without licenses or proof of insurance today wound up with the arrests of nine people in Bienville Parish, Louisiana on suspicion of being illegal aliens.
State Police set up checkpoints around Arcadia this morning after the local sheriff asked for help in cracking down on motorists without driver's licenses and insurance.
In two hours, troopers found 10 people without proper paperwork. Nine of those were working at the House of Raeford chicken processing plant near the checkpoint.
The men, all Hispanic, were taken to the parish jail and State Police called in immigration agents to verify their residency status. Three of the men were later released on bond but the others face likely deportation.
Ballance said State Police will have checkpoints throughout Bienville Parish all this month.

That's one illegal alien, every 12 minutes.
House of Raeford sounds like a good location for an immigration raid and crackdown.

10 illegal immigrants arrested in Arcadia
By Vickie Welborn
ARCADIA — Ten illegal immigrants employed with the House of Raeford were arrested today in separate traffic stops in Arcadia as state police conducted a special enforcement detail at the request of Bienville Parish Sheriff John Ballance.
The immigrants, all Hispanic males, are being detained in the Bienville Parish Jail. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will pick them up Tuesday.
Additionally, a van loaded with other plant workers also suspected of being illegal immigrants emptied as state police stopped it at the plant’s entrance. “They all got out and ran. Two were seen running down the interstate,â€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Out of 18 vehicles they got ten illegal immigrants ? Thats a hell of a high ratio. The rest of the House of Raefords employees will certainly be getting a message.

How about some COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION INVESIGATION AND ENFORCMENT...ON RAEFORD? Shouldn't ICE be there by now...and shouldn't any and all state agencies that weren't being paid appropriate taxes by the employers and employees be notified as well? What's up with that...why don't the State departments of revenue come down hard on every one of these employers too?
