Thread: McCain ripped for applying citizens' rights to illegals (ALIPAC mentioned)

An immigration enforcement activist says Americans shouldn't be surprised at Senator John McCain's recent comment that illegal aliens are being "deprived" of the rights enjoyed by U.S. citizens.

William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), says Americans are being led astray on the immigration issue. "The main game for the sellout Republicans like John McCain is to lie to American voters," he tells OneNewsNow.

During a recent speech at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' 2014 National Migration Conference, the Arizona lawmaker stated: "To have 11 million people living in the shadows in this country is an unacceptable situation. And to deprive them of the human rights, much less the rights of our citizens, which unfortunately happens every single day, is not acceptable in the greatest nation on earth."

Gheen, William (ALIPAC)Gheen blames statements like that for many of the nation's struggles when it comes to how to deal with the unabated influx of illegal immigrants. "Politicians like McCain lying to American voters is why the United States is being invaded, so many people losing their jobs, the reason we're in debt, we're in perpetual invasion – it's because of liars like John McCain," he says.

According to the ALIPAC spokesman, there's very little difference between John McCain and Barack Obama when it comes to their support of amnesty for illegal immigrants.

McCain, one of the "Gang of Eight" in the Senate, also chastised the House of Representatives for not moving on S. 744, an almost 1,200-page piece of legislation that, among other things, would provide a "path to citizenship" for millions of illegal aliens. (See summary of key provisions below) The bill passed the Senate 68-32 on June 27.
