Michiana group targets companies to get Hoosiers back to work

A Michiana group is trying to get unemployed Hoosiers back to work. To do that, they're targeting companies that hire illegal aliens. Citizens for Immigration Law Enforcement are asking companies in Michiana to vow to never hire unauthorized workers. That push is starting to pick up steam because group leaders say they've seen results.

The old story that those are the people that are doing the work that Americans don't want to do is not true," said Citizens for Immigration Law Enforcement Executive Director Bob Schrameyer.

Bob Schrameyer and Jerry Sullivan say that the illegal immigrant workforce is taking away jobs from unemployed Hoosiers. So they started Citizens for Immigration Law Enforcement, or C-I-L-E. It's aimed at eliminating Indiana's illegal alien workforce and helping unemployed citizens.

"They're having difficulty paying their bills, buying groceries. So it's very urgently important to get US citizens back to work," said Citizens for Immigration Law Enforcement Jerry Sullivan.

The group's first step is to target Michiana companies.

"We've always been really committed to only hire people that are legal to work in the U.S," said Geocel Human Resources Manager Jason Birky.

So it was an easy decision for Geocel Corporation Human Resources Manager Jason Birky to tell C-I-L-E they'd go public with their hiring process and even use a government website called e-verify.

"It allows us to find out right away when we log on to the website we have a secure log on and we find out right away if someone is legal or not to work in the United States," said Birky.

Geocel is just one of the 15 companies Sullivan says promised him they won't hire illegals.

"I feel like there's a lot of support locally for having those good, sound, hiring practices," said Birky.

"There are a number of companies that support our goals, but they don't want their names made public right now because they are doing some business with companies that they know employ illegal aliens," said Sullivan.

So for now it's one company and one promise at a time.

"It's going to take a long time to resolve the issue, but we have to start somewhere," said Schrameyer.

Both Sullivan and Schrameyer say their group doesn't target a specific race or ethnicity, but the more than 70 thousand Indiana illegal aliens as a whole.

Then they need to stop doing business with those other businesses. NOW! This has to stop! These businesses are selling out their country for more money. I am all for making money, free markets, etc, but NOT when it contributes to the erosion of this country, then they are hurting the entire country with their greed.

Why don't these businesses understand that in the long run they are hurting themselves? If they continue to hire illegals it could well lead to amnesty soon, then their cheap labor will be gone. In fact, there will just be more highly-paid union members.

This is really the strategy us pro-enforcement advocates are going to have to take. Instead of work-place raids that arrest the illegals, raid the da-- business and arrrest the owner, managers, and HR directors. Throw all their da-- butts in jail. The illegal imm won't have a business to work in.

If the business can't survive without hiring illegals, then it needs to fail!
