EL MONTE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 2006--Thousands of families will be treated to performances from top Regional Mexican music performers when radio station, QUE BUENA 105.5/94.3 FM, television station, KRCA Channel 62 along with Del Rey Entertainment present the star-studded FIESTAS PATRIAS MILLER LITE festival to celebrate Mexican Independence day on September 17th, 2006 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Whittier Narrows Regional Park South in El Monte. Springfield products and the largest group of independent grocery retailers in the country present this traditional festival to the Latino community in the Los Angeles area.

This year's FIESTAS PATRIAS MILLER LITE festival presents a star-studded line-up that includes platinum selling artists and Grammy award winners such as Adolfo Urias, Alegres de la Sierra, Bronco "El Gigante de America", Duelo, Graciela Beltran, Horoscopos de Durango, Los Alazanes, La Dinastia de Tuzantla, Los Higuerenos, Los Nuevos Rebeldes, Mariano Barba, Sergio Vega and many more!

"We are proud to be part of this traditional celebration and bring the community a spectacular free concert with top Latin performers," said Luis Espinoza, Marketing Manager of Miller Brewing Company Pacific Market area.

Fiestas Patrias is a celebration in commemoration of Mexico's first proclamation of independence from Spain in 1810. As the holiday has grown in popularity in the U.S., Mexicans and Central Americans, who also celebrate their independence from Spain in September, join in this massive celebration.

"This is our 10th year partnering with Unified Western Grocers and their independent group of retailers to celebrate with the Latino community our rich heritage, culture and music with a major music festival," said Chris del Rey, event organizer. "Over the years this event has become an annual gathering place for family, friends and neighbors."

Free admission tickets to the FIESTAS PATRIAS MILLER LITE festival at Whittier Narrows are available at over 250 participating independent grocery stores including Superior Super Warehouse, Vallarta Supermarkets, Top VALU, VALU Plus, Super A Foods, Northgate Gonzales, GIGANTE, Big Saver Foods, and El Tapatio, among others.

Mexican Independence Day should be celebrated in Mexico, not in the United States! Here we celebrate the 4th of July - American Independence Day. Perhaps Miller needs to transfer Luis Espinoza, Marketing Manager of Miller Brewing Company Pacific Market area, to Mexico. He can ensure Miller sponsors all the Mexican holidays while he's there.
