N.Y. - Dairy farm admits to employing 10 in country illegally

    By - Associated Press - Friday, May 8, 2015

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - An upstate New York dairy farm admits to employing 10 people who were in the country illegally.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Glenview Dairy, which does business as Bergen Farms, was sentenced to pay a $60,000 fine Thursday after pleading guilty to a charge of attempting to harbor the employees.

Authorities say the farm in the Schuyler County village of Odessa hired the workers between 2012 and 2014.

That is supposed to stop farmers, a $60,000 fine? Depending upon dates of hire, those workers worked a 2 to 3 year employment longevity. So the fine is from $2,000 up to $3,000 per man employment year. Who believes that that did not allow Bergen farms to still profit from employing illegals? Those fines should be stiff enough to make profiting from farming (or manufacturing, or building or anything) for two years. Anything less is only show for the homefolk, but will never change anything.

    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

My Dad hired High school kids . That was me, $5.00 a week and room and board, when we needed more help, we hired more kids, $1.00 an hour with two lunches per day. I got the spooky experience at 14 of firing a 19 year old man. But, that settled it, if Oliver hires you, Gene will be in charge. I never had to fire another.
