Texas men sentenced in NJ for immigrant smuggling
Texas men sentenced in NJ for immigrant smuggling
Houston Chronicle
January 6, 2011
NEWARK, N.J.
Two men who admitted conspiring with human smugglers to transport illegal immigrants from Texas to the Northeast have been sentenced to prison.
Forty-three-year-old Angel Bravo of Houston was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Newark, N.J., to more than three years in prison.
Bravo's stepbrother, 37-year-old Gaspar Campos, also of Houston, was given a 32-month sentence. Both men pleaded guilty in July.
The U.S. Attorney for New Jersey says the two founded a Texas-based company called Transportes Latinos to take people from Houston to other U.S. cities.
Authorities say they were really working directly with human smugglers, charging fees to transport immigrants to their final U.S. destinations.

What a disgrace! NJ has over 500,000 illegal aliens and is such a small state. Then people wonder why taxes are so fricking high!
