    TUCSON, AZ - There are several reports that U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has been shot Saturday morning at a grocery store in Tucson.

    NPR reports that Giffords was holding a public event called "Congress on Your Corner" at the Safeway store in northwest Tucson when a man came up and started shooting.

    The Pima County Sheriff's Office says the shooting happened at the store near Ina and Oracle.

    CNN is reporting that Giffords was shot and her condition is serious.

    NPR says at least nine others were hurt, including members of Giffords' staff.

    Giffords was transported to University Medical Center in Tucson, according to the NPR report.
