Today, the Supreme Court upheld Obama's health care plan, otherwise known as Obamacare. The ruling has been cheered on by Chicago's Latino community, especially because there is a clause that offers undocumented immigrants health care as long as they pay the same amount from their paychecks as others pay.

"This is a great day for me," says Maria Olvera, an undocumented beautician on Chicago's South Side. "I don't see how anybody can be against Obama for this. He is providing health care for millions of people who cannot afford it," says Olvera. Marcelo Rivera of Latinos Para La Revolución agrees.

"The Individual Mandate was the most important part of the law. The fact that it has been upheld should be a victory for all Americans, not just Latinos or undocumented ones," Rivera happily tells us. "We are still working with officials to make sure that undocumented Latinos will receive only the best health care possible. We don't want them attending those free clinics with doctors that have absolutely no experience."

Okay, I must have missed something. I could have sworn that we were told ObamaCare would not cover illegal immigrants, period.

It is interesting that the number of uninsured that has been constantly quoted by the Democrats is just about the same number of illegal aliens reported to be in this country. This was, in my opinion always about health care for illegals at the expense of seniors. Just like the decision to cut the seniors in Illinois from the drug program while keeping the funding for illegals.
