US warns prospective migrants they won't qualify for immigration reform
US warns prospective migrants they won't qualify for immigration reform
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
December 18, 2013 - 3:20 pm EST
MEXICO CITY — The United States is warning migrants thinking of crossing the border that they won't qualify for any potential immigration reform that might be passed next year.
The U.S. Senate has passed a bill that would provide a path to citizenship, but it only covers those who entered the country before Dec. 30, 2011.
Republican leaders in the House rejected the Senate bill and are still mulling their own measures.
The assistant secretary of International Affairs for the Department of Homeland Security said he can't say for sure whether immigrant smugglers are encouraging migrants to cross before the reform.
But Alan Bersin said Wednesday the smugglers are unscrupulous and aren't above making such promises.
The U.S. Embassy DHS attache said migrants shouldn't let themselves be swayed by false promises.

Yea right, like Homeland Security has any crediblity to illegal aliens. Why would future illegal aliens believe they could face enforcement of our laws when the Obama administration, most Democrats, and a few dozen sellout Republicans all want to turn 20 million of them into citizens and voters?

Big whoop! Our country has a pattern of granting amnesties and not enforcing immigration laws. Until this stops (if ever) of course they will keep coming.

Of course no proof is required to prove you entered before 2011. What proof can an illegal alien provide after all if they are hiding in the shadows?

If they have children enrolled in school the child's school records show who came to the school and enrolled the student, their signature and the date.
Medical records/doctors appointments in their name.
Rental agreements for an apartment or home and gas, electric, phone bills in their name at that address back in 2010.
Visa over stays have their passport with the date they entered the country stamped in it. (Almost half of the illegal aliens entered the country legally on a student visa, tourist visa, or one of the many types of temporary work visas and just didn't leave when it expired.)
