The father was deported by ICE but the article only claims that he lives in another country. I am looking into whether it is the Honduras as I have heard. The grandmother does not have an immigration hold on her at this time. Once again the family is seeking assistance with burying the baby.

A 3-month-old baby girl died Thursday after her grandmother apparently forgot about her and left her in a car in front of the family's home in Miami, police said.

The infant was found by Miami Fire-Rescue workers, who were called to the 6800 block of Northwest Fifth Avenue about 12:30 p.m. The baby was believed to have been in the car since 8:30 a.m.

The baby's grandmother, Miriam Dolores Oliveras, was arrested Thursday evening and charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child. Her bond was set at $10,000 Friday morning.

Oliveras had dropped off the baby's mother at work and then returned to the home, leaving the child in the car, said Officer Willie Moreno, a Miami police spokesman. About 1 p.m., when Oliveras, 49, couldn't find the girl, she realized the child might still be in the car and called 911.

The day was unseasonably hot, with the high temperature during the time the child was in the car hitting 87 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Miami fire rescue measured the temperature inside the car: 120 degrees on the baby seat and 134 degrees on the dashboard, according to the arrest affidavit.

‘‘Through spontaneous statements, the defendant stated she had left the victim in the car and forgotten about the baby," the report said. At the police homicide office she would not speak with detectives.

The child's father lives in another country, officials told WFOR-CBS 4 news.
