    Obamacare’s Pitiful Enrollment Numbers Released

November 13, 2013 by Sam Rolley

On Wednesday, the White House released Obamacare enrollment numbers, proving unequivocally that initial public participation in the new healthcare exchanges is falling short of the Administration’s goal.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services around 106,185 people enrolled in Obamacare last month, only about 20 percent of the Administration’s enrollment goal.

The Administration said that the low enrollment numbers are largely related to problems with Healthcare.gov, the glitch ridden website that handles Obamacare enrollment in 36 States. According to the HHS numbers, fewer than 27,000 people have selected a plan through the website, compared to 79,000 who did so through State-run Obamacare websites.

CBS White House correspondent Mark Knoller reported that HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said the enrollment numbers are prove, “The marketplace is working. People are enrolling.”

The White House went into spin mode shortly after the release of the Obamacare numbers, declaring that more than 500,000 Americans have signed up for healthcare thanks to the plan. That’s 106,185 people who selected a plan on the Obamacare marketplace and 396,261 who are newly enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP.

Ok, but IMO there will be more problems when more people learn that their new policies will cost a lot more than their old ones - you know the policies that 'Bama promised then that they could keep.
