Obama Asks Boehner to Repeal Iraq War Authorization

The Obama administration has asked Congress to fully repeal the war authorization known as the Authorization for Use of Military Force in Iraq (AUMF). The request came in the form of a letter from National (in)Security Adviser and known liar Susan Rice to House Speaker John Boehner on Friday.

The letter comes as the House was to consider H. Con. Res. 105, which is a resolution introduced by Rep. James McGovern, Rep. Walter Jones and Rep. Barbara Lee along with seven other co-sponsors.

Rice reminded Boehner of Obama's words from June in which he stated, "American forces will not be returning to combat in Iraq, but we will help Iraqis as they take the fight to terrorists who threaten the Iraqi people, the region, and American interests as well."
It's highly unlikely that Obama will do any such thing, after all, he is fine with the advancement of the Caliphate, in spite of the Islamic State's claims that they are coming for him.

Obama has also said, "we will be prepared to take targeted and precise military action if and when we determine that the situation on the ground requires it."

Though Rice patronizes Boehner about Congress entertaining H. Con. Res. 105, she wants him to go further and asked for a full repeal of the 2002 Authorization for Use of Military Force in Iraq. She believes that a repeal of the AUMF will serve to confirm to the American people that military troops won't be used in the future in Iraq, but how does that square with the above statement by Obama?

The text of H. Con. Res. 105 effectively does what Rice is asking anyway. It takes away authority from Obama to deploy troops into Iraq without congressional authority. According to the resolution:
The President shall not deploy or maintain United States Armed Forces in a sustained combat role in Iraq without specific statutory authorization for such use enacted after the date of the adoption of this concurrent resolution.
Clearly Rep. Jones is behind this document, since he was the congressman who put forth a resolution that would have Barack Obama impeached if he engaged in another use of military force without Congress' authorization. The resolution came after Obama used the military in Libya to over throw Gaddafi, which then Defense Secretary Leon Panetta was blasted by Congress for claiming that international coalitions trump the Constitution.
Jones said that Obama's use of the military without Congress' consent "constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution."

According to the Constitution, Congress has the sole power to declare war under Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11, which states:

The Congress shall have Power…To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water
According to the Washington Free Beacon, "The repeal would come at a complicated – and some argue dangerous – time in Iraq's history."
There is no doubt that the Islamic State is on a rampage against Christians in Iraq, charging them the jizya, killing them and raping them, and that virtually nothing has been done by the Iraqi government to stop the slaughter of their own people. All we have seen them do is turn and run, abandoning millions of dollars of American military equipment to the savages of Islam in their wake. The only bright spot came from 600 Christian men who had enough and took up arms against the Islamists after a Christian woman was raped.

Rep. Buck McKeon (R-CA) said he thought Boehner was joking when he told him about the letter from Rice. "Obama Administration officials are warning us daily that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is 'worse than al-Qaeda' and an extreme threat to the American people," he said. "The American people aren't worried that the president will send the military back to Iraq. They're worried about a deadly terrorist state that can hit us from Wall Street to Main Street. They're worried that this president refuses to do anything, at any time, in any way, to stop the flood of national security crises that are popping up around the globe."

While Senate Democrats are more than ready to repeal the AUMF, many think that it will only embolden the Islamic State.

Former deputy assistant attorney general under George W. Bush, John Yoo, told the Beacon earlier this year, "There is no strong reason to change the AUMF. Over the last 13 years, all three branches have constructed a common understanding and series of practices around the AUMF in fighting the war on terror."

While a Senate Aide told the Beacon that starting down the road of repeal was one "you can't turn back," McKeon went further saying, "This isn't just absurd. We're past absurd. This is dangerous. This administration is fiddling while the world burns, and now they're demanding Congress play with them."

The Obama administration has aided, abetted, funded and armed many of the same jihadists that are now a part of the Islamic State. And though there have been reports that the Islamic State is coming for Barack Obama, which would be tied to him being the commander-in-chief of foreign armies in Muslim countries, Obama doesn't seem to be sweating the issue. Personally, I think he wants Islam to take over the world, he's already loaded his administration with these devils; and he most definitely wants to see America utterly destroyed.
