Currently Overlooked Parts Of ObamaCare Will Come To Forefront In January, More Pain

Right now it seems that everyone is focused on certain things about ObamaCare. Most people are making a big outcry about the increased premiums and rates that most people will be paying. Certainly, this needs to be said and we need to try to use some of this outrage in order to possibly start repealing pieces of the ObamaCare law.

People are also very concerned about the numbers of folks who are losing their current insurance coverage and being forced into the ObamaCare exchanges. This is also certainly a concern that should be discussed and used against the Democrats who have known about all of these results since 2010.

However, starting in January when these ObamaCare policies actually begin taking effect, there are going to be a number of additional issues, issues which are currently being overlooked. Please don’t get me wrong…their are so many things wrong with ObamaCare that it is quite scary. Yet, in the end, the website will reach some level of functionality. When this happens, and when January hits, people are going to be very angry about a number of other things.

Premiums are only one piece of the total cost picture for insurance. We are tending to forget about deductibles and co-pays. Provider networks and access to actual doctors that you like might another big concern once these policies go into effect. When people start visiting a real doctor for their first time under ObamaCare, many people are going to be in for a rude awakening. Costs are going to be higher than expected…in some cases, much higher. Plus, much of these extra costs are not going to be eligible for subsidies under the new healthcare law.

Due to the troubles in the website many people have yet to really see and understand what will actually happen to their plans. Consider a family of four that earns $59,000 per year. They will be paying $400 a month in premiums, after receiving their subsidy. Then, the plan that they receive includes a $2,000 deductible and some pretty sizable co-pays as well. In most cases, the deductibles and co-pays for the plans under the exchanges are going to be higher than what people may have expected…or what they were paying before.

While there are subsidies available to help defray some of the costs of deductibles and co-pays, the income threshold to qualify for these is much lower. This means that a family of four whose income is between $60,000 and $94,000 will not qualify. Interestingly enough, this will end up being a huge piece of the middle class.
I guess we can all now say so much for the “average” family being able to save $2,500 a year in insurance costs. Wasn’t this another promise that Obama made? Yeah, I guess he meant to explain more about what he really meant in that case as well.

Any way you look at it, ObamaCare is an unmitigated disaster. It will just keep getting worse and worse the deeper into this we get. My only fear is that things are going to be so messed up that the idiots who do not know any better will end up clamoring for a single payer system like Obama and the rest of party really want.

What do YOU think? Will there be more pain once people start seeing the doctor under ObamaCare? What do you think about no subsidies for most of the middle class? How do see ObamaCare ending?
