Planned Parenthood Is Democrats’ “Golden Goose,” All American Taxpayers Have Made Political Donations to Dems for Past 16 Years — Thanks, Conservatives!

Proverbial 'golden goose': Democrats want to keep funding Planned Parenthood and other organizations because of the gargantuan amount of political donations they make to Democrat candidates

No wonder the Democrats fought so hard to keep funding Planned Parenthood. Not only do they want American taxpayers to keep paying for abortions (PP is the largest provider of abortions in the nation and performed one every 95 seconds during 2009), while claiming that millions of women would never get mammograms and would likely DIE if the organization lost its federal funding — but PP is a major contributor to the campaign coffers of the Democrat Party.
Imagine that.
Planned Parenthood is the golden goose for Democrats that American taxpayers fund… one of many secret golden geese, no doubt.
I’ve no problem with a private organization donating funds as it sees fit to one political party or the other. However, I am outraged that my tax dollars, from MY labor, MY skills, have gone to Planned Parenthood and countless other federally funded government programs, which then funnel back as a “wink-wink thank you” to members of the Democrat Party.
Thanks for the money, you clueless conservatives!
Before any liberals squawk and declare that Planned Parenthood also donates to the GOP, well, they’re right. Of the donations made to federal candidates over a 16-year period by Planned Parenthood, a paltry 6 percent was given to Republicans. The remaining 94 percent went to Democrats.
Disparity, no?

Percentage of that grand total of federal donations, which has gone to Republicans in the House and Senate: 6 percent
These donation figures are at the federal level only — no telling how much has been donated by PP to Dems at the state and local levels.

From Washington Examiner, via Center for Responsive Politics, Planned Parenthood spent more than $1 million electing Democrats last cycle:
In 2010, Planned Parenthood and a California affiliate together spent more than $700,000 on federal lobbying efforts, a Center for Responsive Politics analysis of federal lobbying records finds. By comparison, all other organizations that primarily advocate for abortion rights collectively spent $247,280 on federal lobbying efforts during the same period, according to the Center’s research.
Planned Parenthood’s political influence efforts hardly stop at lobbying.
The organization’s political action committee, for example, donated more than $148,000 to federal candidates — almost all Democrats — during the 2010 election cycle. The PAC spent more than $443,000 overall.
Planned Parenthood also recorded $905,796 in independent expenditures during the 2010 cycle — money spent in support of, or in opposition to, federal political candidates, largely through advertisements. The top beneficiaries of this money were Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Patty Murray (D-Wash.).
Sen. Barbara Boxer fought long and hard these past weeks (and continued totell the lie about the PP mammograms) to keep the funding going for Planned Parenthood, to label anyone who supported PP budget cuts as “extreme.”Now we know why. Babs is no dummy — she knows on which side her bread is buttered, as my grandma would say.
Excellent piece by Susan E. Wills that shockingly exposes the many fabrications and false claims of Planned Parenthood, posted at American Thinker — here’s the first one:
Claim: “This is about women’s health more than abortion” (Cecile Richards, PPFA President)
This was quoted by Jonathan Alter in a March 14 opinion pieceposted on Bloomberg Opinion. But Congress already spends billions every year for women’s health care, through Medicaid, Medicare and other programs. Defunding PPFA is about no longer coercing taxpayers to contribute to the nation’s largest abortion chain.
In its last reported fiscal year (2008-2009), PPFA clinics aborted 332,278 children, a number equal to the entire population of Cincinnati. Since 1970, PPFA has aborted an estimated 5,300,000 children, equivalent to the entire population of Colorado.
In an interview published March 17 in the Texas Tribune, Ms. Richards spoke at length about all the healthcare PPFA provides: “We see 3 million patients each year across the country. For 97 percent of them, we provide preventive care. Three percent are abortions.”
Yet according to PPFA’s own March 2011 Planned Parenthood Services fact sheet, 332,278 abortions were performed on some of PPFA’s three million clients in the year ending June 30, 2009. This suggests that eleven percent of their clients had abortions in that year, not three percent. But the best measure of how important abortions are to PPFA’s bottom line is the fact that abortions produce at least 37 percent of PPFA revenues “by very conservative estimates.”
PPFA has also expanded these lucrative abortion services, adding surgical or “medical” (RU-486) abortion to the services offered at an additional 75 clinics between 2005 and 2009. In that period, PPFA’s total annual abortions grew 25 percent, while other services declined. For example, prenatal care clients numbered 7,021 in the most recent year (down 60 percent in the last five years), and adoption referrals to other agencies numbered only 977, compared to 4,912 in 2007… a remarkable 80% drop in adoption referrals in only two years.
Due to this increase in abortions and decrease in prenatal care and adoption services, 97.6 percent of PPFA “services” for pregnant women in 2009 involved killing their children, and only2.4 percent involved prenatal care or adoption referral.
From The PJ Tatler:
When Chuckles the Sockpuppet Schumer says Democrats will “never, never, never” vote to defund Planned Parenthood,he’s not kidding. But their intransigence has nothing to do with anyone’s physical health. It has everything to do with the Democrats’ political health. They would be voting to cut off their own campaign cash, pried from the hands of taxpayers.
New York Times reported that Planned Parenthood has a total budget of some $1.1 billion, more than a third of which comes from the federal, state, and local governments.
Taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood need to be stopped — the Pence Amendment (H.R. 1, sec. 4013), a measure to stop federal funding of PPFA and its 102 affiliates, must be passed.
Congress, are you listening?
