Rush/Obama Drama Boon to Talk Radio Listenership and Advertisers.

According to TALKERS magazine research of talk radio listening trends and habits, the current Rush Limbaugh versus President Obama news brouhaha is extremely beneficial not only to the talk show host’s listener level, but to the genre of talk radio in general. Taking into account the depressed rates of advertising in all media, the spike in Limbaugh’s audience figures is a bonanza for sponsors on his program and even on his affiliates’ competitors. According to TALKERS magazine publisher Michael Harrison, “The beauty of new listenership coming to talk radio due to this type of surge in public interest is that radio stations spread the listeners around. It’s a natural part of the process. Once a person who might not have been a listener before comes to the table, he or she is likely to stick around to check out other programs and to become a more regular consumer of the genre.â€

Looks like a lot of people that wanted "change" are getting the same crap they have been used to. While I do not like Limbaugh, I do see his base growing. Kool-Aid drinkers are Kool-Aid drinkers. They can be a liberal one day, but once their supported liberal does what should have been expected, they cry "fail" and support the other side. No more 2 party systems! That's why I like Ron Paul. He speaks for ME.
