San Fran mayor announces he's running for governor

Heaven Help Calfiornia. If we think Arnold is bad, can you imagine Gavin Newsom or Diane Frankenstein? I think that will be the straw that broke the camels back for me. I will just HAVE to leave even though all of my family is here. OH!!!! Then there is Tony the Villian who has really screwed up LA. I have a really sick feeling.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom has made it official—he's running to become California's next governor.
The 41-year-old mayor used the social networking sites Twitter and Facebook to announce on Tuesday that he was seeking the Democratic nomination to succeed Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Newsom could face 71-year-old Attorney General Jerry Brown and 64-year-old Lt. Gov. John Garamendi in next year's Democratic primary. Brown was governor from 1975 to 1983.

Other Democrats mentioned as possible contenders include 56-year-old Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and 75-year-old U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein

Unless I have lost count there are now 23 people (give of take a few) running for governor of California.

Anyone know anything about the candidates?

Are any of the candidates pro-American and against Amnesty?

Would it be too much to ask for a solid conservative who supports attrition through enforcement over amnesty?

I would love to see former congressman Duncan Hunter join the fray.

I can't even get a list of all of the names yet. The local paper said 22 the last time someone announced they were running but they only gave about 4 names and I never heard of 2 of them. 2 elections ago we had a bunch of people running including a "Professional Dancer" (Pole Dancer) and Gary Coleman (The ex-child actor who is now a security guard).

I want Trancredo to move to California and run. Hunter or Bilbray would also be good.

But they won't let me pick the candidates and they only let me vote once.
