Obama Breaks New Constitutional Ground, Oath of Office, in Insurance Letter

In a desperate attempt to diffuse criticism of his administration over the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”), President Obama has once again broken new constitutional ground.

In a letter dated November 14, Director of the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight Gary Cohen informed state insurance commissioners that insurance policies rendered illegal by the legislation “will not be considered to be out of compliance with the market reforms specified below under the conditions specified below.”

The president has just violated his oath of office. No investigation is necessary. He’s put it in writing.

Article II of the U.S. Constitution creates the executive branch of government, including the Office of President. Section 1 of Article II describes how the president will be elected, paid and how he will be sworn into office. It specifies the following oath:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Ex-Secret Service Agent Loses Insurance Under Obamacare: 'This is a Betrayal'

Count a former Secret Service agent among the millions of Americans who say they’ve been booted from their insurance plans due to Obamacare mandates.
Dan Bongino, who is now running for Congress as a Republican but who served 12 years as a Secret Service agent in the Clinton administration and for President Obama, until 2010, said he just received a letter in the mail notifying him about his looming canceled coverage, The New York Post reported.
The letter stated: “Your current benefit plan does not conform to these new [Obamacare] mandates.”
Mr. Bongino said he had asked to keep his federal insurance policy through CareFirst BlueCross Blue Shield when he left his Secret Service position. He initially paid for continuing coverage on a temporary basis, and then it was converted over to an individual market policy, he said, in The Post.
But now the father of two said he’s at a loss.
