The record-breaking Powerball jackpot shines on a lottery sign hanging in the window of a convenience store on Court Street in Newark on Wednesday, Nov. 28. Priot to the 11 p.m. drawing, lottery officials said the jackpot could climb even higher.Len Melisurgo/The Star-Ledger Tonight, the Powerball has more power than ever before.

With a record-smashing jackpot of $550 million, one stroke of good luck could change the lives of one person, one family and lots of friends forever. Winnings like that could bust a wallet the size of a Chevy Tahoe and leave plenty of cash leftover to buy a fleet of Lamborghinis to replace it.

Those life-changing numbers were drawn tonight at 11 p.m. The lucky numbers are 5, 16, 22, 23 and 29. The Powerball number was6.

If you matched all six numbers, close your laptop, hug your dad or kids or whoever is closest and crack open the champagne — you just won the mother of all jackpots. If you are the lone winner and chose the cash option instead of the annuity, you will get around $360.2 million, before all the income taxes are taken out.

If you didn't hit, well ... better luck next time.
The pot spiked to $550 million today following a ticket-buying frenzy fueled by no top winners in Saturday's $325 million drawing. No one has hit all six numbers in the past 15 drawings dating back to Oct. 6.
DID YOU WIN ANY MONEY?

Even if you didn't match all five regular balls plus the Powerball number, don't toss your tickets. You may have won some money.
