Thread: Bush speaks of assimilation

Bush just mentioned learning English as part of assimilation, yet every place I go there is both english and spanish labels, directions, documents, etc....

What are you going to do about that Jorge?

And workforce needed....sickens me because fair wages would provide legal citizens jobs and we would have a workforce.....

I just can't take listening to this man.

This is BOOSh's idea of assimilation.

Speaking English is necessary, but far from sufficient to qualify for being assimilated.

The problem is that we have not required immigrants (legal) to assimilate, and the rest are illegals who don't need to assimiliate supposedly because they are not staying. (lol)

Assimilation has become a dirty word - a politically incorrect word. People are supposed to KEEP their language, culture, customs, etc., not like in the old days when we Americanized people. We used to have classes for that.

Of course, with all this posturing about "multiculturalism", we are ruining our own country, and are causing more people to feel separate, and that never works. We have to have assimilation in order to keep a strong union.

We should DEMAND it, but our "representatives" are cowards.
