    Canadian Alipacer's, please resond

I know I saw a member yesterday that was Canadian. All I want to know is how your healthcare system is. For so long, I have heard that you guys are socialists and are an enemy for supporting such a program. What is the true story? I am putting together a documentary and would like to know aw much as possible from your point of view.

Also, I am trying to put together a sob story for American's that have been affected by illegal immigrants. Those of you in the DFW area that have been DIRECTLY affected by illegal immigration, please send me a PM. I am looking for documentation, like medical bills so I can show the comparison between what the average American suffers, vs. what an illegal suffers.

I will be filming at schools, emergency rooms etc as long as i am allowed. I am so sick and tired of illegal sob stories, that it is time that we let the American voice be heard! I want to show Americans being denied for treatment, while illegals are approved.

My vision is to show the DFW area that they are victims of illegals. I want to show the face of the American suffering while illegals get a free pass. Me and my brother just purchased a video camera so we can do such films. It is time that America See's the problems that illegals cause.

The biggest issue I have run into is the schools. They REFUSE to give up budget costs for ESL programs. My daughter was sent home with a package from Time Magazine that would give our school money as long as we gave out the addresses of 7 people we know. My parents and grandparents are dead, and my wife doesn't know 7 people. Apparently, the kids are being pressured into doing this so the school can get money. I asked the ESL teacher if her kids were being pressured into this, since it is NO DOUBT that is is HER fault that we even need this money to begin with. I told the principal that if you didn't have the wasteful ESL program, then the school wouldn't have to pressure the kids into fund raising. I let her know that WILL NOT support that school in any way, until they get rid of ESL programs. I will give you $100 to guess who that "bad parent" is now. I have BEGGED for even an estimate as to how much Keller ISD's ESL programs cost us, but they refuse.

Now, the ESL class that I saw in September 2008, STILL speaks NO English, yet they will be integrated with my daughters class for 1st grade. Now, who do you think will get more attention, my daughter, or a kid that STILL speaks NO English after an ENTIRE year of Kindergarten? I am so pissed, and the district knows it! But I am the "bad" person.

I have a friend who worked in Canada. Sometimes people will a go to veterinarians if it is an emergency such as a cut hand etc. I'm serious. This person worked with a woman who could not get into an emergency room and tried her vet. What Americans need to realize is that years ago many of these European Countries and Canada were small homogenous states. Universal healthcare worked. They didn't have millions of uneducated illegals with tons of babies crossing into their countries and driving up costs. Furthermore where will we get Doctors. Seriously who is going to spend 12 years or more post college to earn 100K per year? Our overall quality will go down the toilet. Name a viable, profitable government run program.

Illegal aliens do not get medical services for free they get billed just like anyone else they just often do not pay.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

ALIPAC has had Mexican citizens posting on the board against the Mexican government.

Actually if illegals go into a hospital of course by law they cannot be denied. The hospitals do not bother to bill them. The hospital is suppose to be reimbursed by the federal government. Of course that doesn't happen. This is precisely why hospitals are closing down. And same is true for any public or county clinic.

This is exactly why I will not vote to support hospitals with my tax dollars anymore. Until someone in govt stands up for Americans and demands these hospitals stabilize injured IA's and then deport them to thier OWN country to continue treatment, I will continue to vote NO to support them.

The American people need a hero to represent them!

jshhmr, best of luck with your project! You won't have to look far to find stories about the horrific impact of illegals on the American people. Very sad!

I believe I am the Canadian you were referring to. I have never had a problem with OHIP. There are a lot of stories out there about how it works, most are a little exagerated!

The truth of the matter is it CAN be slow, like for an MRI. Most Ontario residents then will schedule an MRI in Buffalo. Yes you do have to pay for it, but you turn the bill in to OHIP and are re-imbursed. And YES they do pay you back! I know this for a fact!

I can make an appointment with my Doctor, yep that can take awhile unless it's an emergency, but I also walk out the door with NO bill in hand. I can walk into an emergency room and yep, walk out without a bill in hand. I can walk into a pharmacy and get my prescriptions filled for a mere $2 fee... THAT IS ANY MEDICINE! ALSO I GET MY VITAMINS AND ASPIRIN OR TYLENOL (WHATEVER) FOR FREE. As long as it has a DIN ( Drug ID Number) on the label and my Doctor says I need it, it's free.

Years back we were losing Doctors and Nurses left and right, this is because the Goverment limits how much a Doctor can make in a year. Unless you were a Specialist ( Heart Surgeon, Neurologist, etc.) you were limited to $300K a year, a Specialist gets $750K.

The truth of the matter is that I go back to Canada for most of my medical needs! I get all my medicines up there, contrary to what Bush would have had you believe the Drug Companies are one and the same! I used to see red when he talked about Canadian medicines as if it was some third world Drug Company!

When my husband fell ill he was in the hospital the first time for 30 days... NO BILL. He was sick for a year before he passed away, during this time he was on so many medicines, it seemed like every time we went to the Doctor he was changin it. Still in all in a years time our total outpay was LESS than $300. He was on antibiotics, puffers (inhalers to you Americans...LOL!), and Ensure. we got his Ensure at discount prices too! He went into a month long rehab... he was there Mon-Fri and came home on the week-end, and yep NO BILL!

The last time he went into the hospital he was there for 21 days. We even got a medicine that was not yet approved in Canada, but was in the States. I had to petition the Ministry Of Health and they allowed it to be brought in... NO CHARGE. And you guessed it, no bill.

So my opinion is that I am all for it. Yes, we paid HIGH taxes on almost everything, but in the end can you imagine what the bills I would have had to deal with WOULD have been? I know for a fact one of the medications Mark was on would have been $1200 a month here in the US, our cost? A mere $2.
