Cavuto – Amnesty Ain’t No Emancipation Proclamation And Obama Is No Abraham Lincoln

[Watch] Cavuto – Amnesty Ain’t No Emancipation Proclamation And Obama Is No Abraham Lincoln

Neil Cavuto knows Abraham Lincoln fairly well and he assures the current occupier of the White House that his grandiose comparisons of himself to the former president are woefully overstated. He makes his point with a parity of the comments of Texas Democrat Senator Lloyd Bentsen to Vice President Dan Quayle in their 1988 debate.
As for the similarities between Obama and Lincoln, Cavuto takes issue with the several points and refuses to allow Obama to get away with comparing his criminal amnesty to the Emancipation Proclamation.
Cavuto says to Obama How he could possibly compare that act, in the face of war with his which is only sure to incite political war.
He also asks how, “If this ‘Lincolnesque’ act was so brave, why punt on it until after the midterms? Are your political convictions more timed by the clock? Surely political guts needn’t be held hostage to political expediency, right? ”
Cavuto asks Obama, “Surely you’re not comparing the plight of slaves, who were brought here in chains against their will to illegals who happily snuck in here on their own and only their will.” He adds, “Surely you recognize the far bigger problem today isn’t how they snuck in here or how many are here, but how porous our border remains that they just keep on coming here. You’re essentially rewarding those who broke in here but what are you doing about the millions more who will be emboldened to do just as they did here.
He wants to know, “Where is that bravery. Where is that glory? Where is that Lincolnesque moment? Where is that call to duty? Not for the good of those who shouldn’t even be here, but the poor saps who are paying the bills here. Where is the Lincoln moment on our behalf, Mr. ‘president,’ to ease our burden, to defray our costs? Where is the lobby for losers who have the unfortunate distinction of actually being Americans and not stealing to become Americans? Who is looking out for us, Mr. ‘president? Because right about now I will tell you this much, it ain’t you Mr. ‘president’ because I’m still waiting but in the meantime this much I know, you ain’t no Lincoln.”

Tom Cotton Points Out the Other Reason for No Amnesty – Put Americans First

Posted on Monday, December 1st, 2014 at 11:17 am.by: Suzanne Reisig Olden

Arkansas Congressman Tom Cotton pointed out a huge reason why Obama’s pen amnesty is a bad idea: it costs American’s jobs and depresses wages. Cotton appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday.
“The president just lost an election in no small measure because wages for working families are declining and unemployment is still too high in too many places,” Cotton told anchor, Chuck Todd. “And the first big action he took after the election was to make it easier for illegal immigrants to get jobs, not for working families to get jobs.”
Obama just used his pen to stop deportation of illegal immigrants. This alone will boost the annual inflow of guest-workers for jobs sought by Americans. His obnoxious pen also removed the barrier to hiring illegals by removing the Obamacare fine for not providing health insurance for JUST ILLEGALS. That will punish those businesses for hiring Americans (to the tune of $3,000 per citizen hired). Obama also said he would grant work-permits to 4 million illegal immigrants, plus give them access to federal welfare programs and a fast-track to citizenship. The likely cost of the amnesty is $2 trillion.
Cotton, who is giving up his House seat for a seat in the Senate, will attend a December 2 meeting where the House GOP caucus will decide how to block Obama’s unilateral amnesty for 4 million illegal immigrants. “I’ll consult with my colleagues in both the Senate and the House, to decide… but I’m reluctant to cede the spending power that a Congress has under the Constitution,” he said. “What we might also do is pass a short-term spending measure into the new year to let a new and accountable Congress, not a lame-duck Congress, make a difference.”
If the GOP is smart, they will listen to this jobs argument. It’s what got Cotton elected and it resonates with many, many Americans. Polls show that Obama’s immigration policies are very unpopular, especially among voters in Midwestern swing-states. On Nov. 4 in deep-blue Oregon, 66 percent of voters struck down a new law giving drivers licenses to illegals.
Time for action. Time for us to say “NO” to amnesty and time to put citizens first.
