Compare the crimes-Coyotes and traffickers don't get charged

Oro Valley man gets 290 years for sexual exploitation of a minor
A Pima County Superior Court judge sentenced an Oro Valley man to 290 years in prison Tuesday for possessing child pornography, but said it was only because his “hands are tied.”
A jury found Carl Ray Buske guilty of 29 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor last month.
State law required Judge John Leonardo to sentence the 47-year-old defendant to 10 to 24 years on each count and to run them consecutive to each other.
Leonardo sentenced Buske to 10 years per count, but said he would be filing documents with the Arizona State Board of Executive Clemency that will allow Buske to ask for an earlier release.
The minimum sentence in Buske’s case is “extraordinarily excessive,” Leonardo said.
“It seems incongruous to me that the people who make and and distribute child pornography are subject to the same sentences as someone who possesses it,” Leonardo said.

I'm not saying that child porn or exploitation or abuse isn't a bad crime, but they always pursue this crime and they let more than half of the drug traffickers carrying less than 500 lbs or people with carloads of human cargo go without charging them with any crime. Nothing!
People who stuff children in trunks or under car seats don't get charged with a crime either, but be in possession of some pictures and get 300 years?Illegal aliens remain exempt from American laws, while they DEMAND American rights...

Do not assume you have all the facts
Unless you were one of the 12 jury members in the deliberation of this mans convictions, and knew the evidence presented (much less what never was admitted into evidence) I would not be casting comments around freely.
Border issues are not the same as Child pornography cases.

K,
In this case, everything that was admitted and shown to the jury is in the public court records like the transcript.
Also, I don't feel like mapwife compared the two crimes, in fact she pointed out some contrast like enforcement and punishment.

I would suggest that much of what was presented in court was not mentioned in the article. And much was left out.
While crimes happen to children that are horrible, all of these crimes are punishable and many people are charged with them even if they are not publicized in the news like this portion of this trial. And there have been cases where people were punished for transporting children in the trunks of cars and other similar issues.
Further, the article is slightly misleading. It discusses people who molested children vs. people who were being convicted of pornographic creation, distrobution and possession. And yes, the sentences are different, but that doesnt mean I agree with the lighter sentence for the molesters.
