Exclusive: Phil Elmore asserts, 'simply being white is enough to be branded a racist'

    Published: 22 hours ago
    PHIL ELMORE

To “connect the dots” is to draw conclusions – previously unmade conclusions – from available data. There are times, however, when connecting the dots produces a disturbing conclusion. This alarm is nothing short of a clarion call for change. It is the dead canary in the mine shaft. It is the collision alarm at the helm.

Such an alarm was sounded in the furor over the University of Missouri this week when student protesters succeeded in forcing out both the university’s chancellor and its president. Their crimes were vaguely defined as “racism,” a crime neither adequately defined nor substantially proven. Cries of “racism!” have, in fact, become the new “witchcraft!” in the enclaves where “social justice whiners,” or SJWs, are strongest. Where SJW fascists hold sway, literally every act is offensive, and every thought is a crime (or potentially so).

All that is required for you to become a thought-criminal is for you to utter some word or take some action to which an SJW takes offense. Those offenses occur on a shifting scale. It is not possible to appease SJWs. They are “crybullies,” weaklings who individually have no power and no ability to cope, but who become violent mobs when they gather together. As mobs, they seek to assert their psychological derangement, their political weakness and their hatred of all whites and all males on society at large. They were, until recently, small in number. With the advent of the Internet, they have become a real threat to the American way of life, to the ideals of freedom and liberty on which the Constitution is built.

The social justice agitators, fresh from successfully ousting their school’s leadership over the alleged, unproven and false claim of “racism,” have vowed that this is just the beginning. It seems a single black student heard a single epithet shouted at someone, by someone, under circumstances that can neither be proven nor specified. This was, in and of itself, enough to push the president and chancellor from their posts. This happens because the outrage voiced and amplified online becomes too great for its victims to bear.

To some, these SJW monsters are the creatures of the left’s own creation. Many have said that the liberal denizens of our nation’s ivory towers deserve what they get. They fed these monsters a steady diet of participation trophies, speech codes and yes-means-yes sexual assent contracts; how do they now object when their twisted children begin eating them? But as the universities fall, so do other American institutions. The monsters have the Internet, and it is the Internet that lets them propagate their hate and their fascism.

Do you need proof? Look no further than the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter. This Twitter search tag is the central point of organization for the current anti-police movement. With typical lib logic, the left asserts that all police are racists murderers who cannot be trusted (while they push for laws that would take guns away from everyone but the very racist, murdering police the leftists condemn). This anti-police climate has spilled over onto the nation’s college campuses as both cause and effect. It is part of, and partly a product of, the widespread assertion by blacks and self-hating white liberals that America is a horrible, racist place where minorities are routinely and blithely mistreated. Popular culture has fallen to this trope, to this falsehood, to this assumption. Now, simply being white is enough to be branded a racist and pushed from polite society, as the University of Missouri’s administration has just discovered.

Two things happened in the midst of all this heat and light at MU. One is that an angry mob of SJW fascists attacked reporters and pushed them out of a “safe space” at the University of Missouri – because the libs absolutely hate freedom of speech. They’ve been at the forefront of every effort to control speech and therefore thought on campus, the most egregious example being their speech codes. They’ve taken their hate and their fascism to the Internet, where all conservative and libertarian thought is met with howls of politically correct derision and accusations of misogyny, racism and hate.

More disturbing was the response by the campus police at Mizzou, who are now attempting to control, by force of law, the very freedom of speech MU students no longer have. In an email to students earlier this week, the Missouri University Police Department asked that students who “witness incidents of hateful and/or hurtful speech or actions” immediately report this to the police with a detailed description of the individuals involved (including their license plates, if applicable). Students were also urged to take cell phone pictures of the offenders. The notice specifically cites posting this information to social media – the SJW fascists’ go-to move when offended – as an impediment to the swift punishment of those involved. “While cases of hateful and hurtful speech are not crimes, if the individual(s) identified are students, MU’s Office of Student Conduct can take disciplinary action,” the email concludes (emphasis added).

In other words, all that it takes to root out all white people from positions of authority, to condemn all white people on fabricated charges of racism and to further the notion that all whites are hateful, racist creatures who enjoy disproportionate “privilege” in society is a mob of SJWs. The way SJWs coordinate is through the Internet – and IDG News Service now predicts there will be up to 30 percent more Internet-connected devices in 2016 (raising the total to 6.4 billion Internet connections).

That’s it. That’s the connection. Those are the dots to be connected. Those are the dominoes waiting to fall. The Internet will only become more pervasive. Our connection to it, our dependence on it, will only become greater. We must never accept these false charges. If we cede this intellectual ground to the social justice whiners, if we let them accuse us of “raaaaacism!” the way hysterical puritans used to find “witches” under every rock and behind every tree, they will quickly tire of eating their own.

They will move on to devour us – and we will have let them do it.

When students do not feel comfortable on a campus they should feel comfortable on, it is the responsibility of the University to correct the sources of discomfort. We are supposed to be a civil society, such that where people live, work and study is a safe and comfortable place for all. Fixing racial issues at the University of Missouri is not a threat to anyone, it is a needed step for the well-being of the student body.

If you are white and do not want to be labeled a racist, then whites need to call upon whites to be civil in our civil society for their own benefit and all those around them.

It was only in recent years that our civil society decided to do something about bullying in schools. Children and teenagers have suffered for decades in schools where they were supposed to feel safe and comfortable so they could be happy and learn. Yet no one in authority would ever stop the bully, no one would do a thing to protect the poor victims of this awful behavior. Instead they would laugh it off as kids being kids, or tell some poor kid who was being bullied to man up or some poor girl to just ignore it. After enough victims of bullying had committed suicide, finally, authorities decided well gee, maybe we shouldn't allow bullying in our schools. Well, duh.

It is the same with many of these racist issues that students find offensive and harmful. It is a privilege to attend a major university, it is a place and position that demands a certain decorum and respect for other students, and when that is vacant and the affected students complain to University officials, they deserve a response and appropriate action to restore it. When University officials choose to ignore the complaints, then they have failed in their primary fundamental duty to the student body of the University to ensure a safe and comfortable place for all who attend that institution.

Expecting University officials to take their concerns seriously is not Social Justice Whining, it is a plea for respect and good manners that we all should demand be present on our publicly-funded campuses and throughout all of our society.

We can not fix our country of its many ills if we as Americans do not unite and stand as one people, and none of our lives can be as good as they could be if we allow Americans to pick on other Americans anywhere, let alone our young Americans in our educational system at any level.

You've got this backwards. It is the students that are doing the bullying! Unfortunately, since it's working, it will only empower more student bullying.

    Who are they bullying?

Are we at ALIPAC "bullying" when we call for the ouster of pro-illegal alien members of Congress or Presidents or Governors or Cabinet Members?

Unless you know something I don't, there has been no evidence to suggest the President of the university is a racist!

IMO, your examples don't fit the situation in Missouri. Honestly, I'm a little shocked that you've come out in support of this obvious racist bullying.

That article is wrong, Newmexican. Here is the actual List of Demands from the Columbia, Missouri newspaper:

    To: The University of Missouri
    October 20, 2015

During the University of Missouri’s 104th homecomingg parade, Saturday, October 10, 2015,eleven Black student leaders on campus interjected themselves into the parade, presenting UM system president, Tim Wolfe, and the Columbia community with a demonstration addressing Mizzou’s history of racial violence and exclusivity. The demonstration covered the raw, painful, and often silenced history of racism and discrimination on the University of Missouri’s campus.

This history of racism at Mizzou dates back to 1935 when Lloyd Gaines petitioned the university to be its first Black law student and was denied admission. The actual year that the first Black student, Gus T. Ridgel, was accepted in the University of Missouri wasn’t until 1950, hence where the concept of “Concerned Student 1950” comes from.

Concerned Student 1950, thus, represents every Black student admitted to the University of Missouri since then and their sentiments regarding race *related affairs affecting their lives at a predominantly white institution. Not only do our white peers sit in silence in the face of our oppression but also our administrators who perpetuate that oppression through their inaction. The Black experience on Mizzou’s campus is cornered in offices and rarely attended to until it reaches media. Then, and only then, do campus administrators seek reactionary initiatives to attest to the realities of oppressed students, faculty, and staff. These temporary adjustments to the university’s behaviors are not enough to assure that future generations of marginalized students will have a safe and inclusive learning experience during their time at Mizzou. It is important to note that, as students, it is not our job to ensure that the policies and practices of the University of Missouri work to maintain a safe, secure and unbiased campus climate for all of its students. We do understand, however, that change does not happen without a catalyst.

Concerned Student 1950 has invested time, money, intellectual capital, and excessive energy to bring to the forefront these issues and to get administration on board so that we, as students, may turn our primary focus back to what we are on campus to do: obtain our degrees.

The following document presents the demands of Concerned Student 1950. This document reflects the adjustments that we feel should be made to the University. We expect a response to these demands by 5:00pm on October 28, 2015. If we do not receive a response to these demands by the date above, we will take appropriate nonviolent actions. If there are any questions, comments or concerns, you may forward them to ConcernedStudent1950@gmail.com.

    The struggle continues,
    Concerned Student 1950

    List of Demands

    I. We demand that the University of Missouri System President, Tim Wolfe, writes a handwritten apology to the Concerned Student 1*9*5*0 demonstrators and holds a press conference in the Mizzou Student Center reading the letter. In the letter and at the press conference, Tim Wolfe must acknowledge his white male privilege, recognize that systems of oppression exist, and provide a verbal commitment to fulfilling Concerned Student 1*9*5*0 demands. We want Tim Wolfe to admit to his gross negligence, allowing his driver to hit one of the demonstrators, consenting to the physical violence of bystanders, and lastly refusing to intervene when Columbia Police Department used excessive force with demonstrators.

II. We demand the immediate removal of Tim Wolfe as UM system president. After his removal a new amendment to UM system policies must be established to have all future UM system president and Chancellor positions be selected by a collective of students, staff, and faculty of diverse backgrounds.

III. We demand that the University of Missouri meets the Legion of Black Collegians' demands that were presented in 1969 for the betterment of the black community.

IV. We demand that the University of Missouri creates and enforces comprehensive racial awareness and inclusion curriculum throughout all campus departments and units, mandatory for all students, faculty, staff, and administration. This curriculum must be vetted, maintained,
and overseen by a board comprised of students, staff, and faculty of color.

    V. We demand that by the academic year 2017*2018, the University of Missouri increases thepercentage of black faculty and staff campus*wide to 10%.

VI. We demand that the University of Missouri composes a strategic 10 year plan by May 1, 2016 that will increase retention rates for marginalized students, sustain diversity curriculum and training, and promote a more safe and inclusive campus.

VII. We demand that the University of Missouri increases funding and resources for the University of Missouri Counseling Center for the purpose of hiring additional mental health professionals; particularly those of color, boosting mental health outreach and programming
across campus, increasing campus*wide awareness and visibility of the counseling center, and reducing lengthy wait times for prospective clients
    .
VIII. We demand that the University of Missouri increases funding, resources, and personnel for the social justices centers on campus for the purpose of hiring additional professionals, particularly those of color, boosting outreach and programming across campus, and ncreasing
    campus*wide awareness and visibility.

The students didn't call him a racist. They called for an apology for him allowing his driver to hit a demonstrator and not intervening when Columbia Police Department personnel used excessive force against the demonstrators. They called for his resignation for failing during his position as President to address race-related issues on the University of Missouri System campuses.

Please don't be "shocked" at my support of the black students trying to improve the University of Missouri System. I'm a white graduate of the University of Missouri Columbia campus. My uncle was Associate Dean of Admissions of the University of Missouri Columbia for decades and my aunt was a Doctor of Education Professor at the University of Missouri Columbia for decades. I'm also an alumna of the Greek Sorority System at the University of Missouri Columbia and a Past President of Mortar Board at the University of Missouri Columbia.

What the black students are demanding is perfectly legitimate and long-warranted. There were issues when I attended that many of us wanted to fix but as students we couldn't do very much to make much of a difference. As white students we saw the problems, but with trying to maintain high grades and still be involved in our activities, we just didn't have the time or knowledge of how to help.

It's heart-breaking to most of us that black students are still feeling unsafe, unwanted, and unwelcome at the University of Missouri all these decades later. The real break-through was the totally BRILLIANT idea to use the sports program to drive the issue home to some plan for resolution. As part of the UM Alumni, and every other graduate of the University of Missouri Columbia that I have spoken with, we all totally and completely support these black students to bring home the change that's needed at the University of Missouri, so all students feel safe, comfortable, wanted, welcome and included, because THAT is the most basic, primary and fundamental obligation of any University in the state of Missouri or anywhere else.

Really, MW, how you could have ever read even one of my posts and come away with the attitude that would leave you "shocked" that I support black students in their struggle for equality, is inexplicable.

I'm confident this will be another one of those we'll have to agree to disagree issues.

Except when it isn't. Don't worry about it, MW. The University of Missouri belongs to the people of the state of Missouri, who are uniting to solve problems instead of ignore them, thanks to the black student demonstrators and all the white students, faculty and Board of Governors of the University of Missouri-Columbia who support their cause, even the City of Columbia supports them. This is a really good thing for my home state and alma mater.

But thank you for your interest and opposing view.
