    A whistleblower from the Department of Justice has come forward to expose a campaign by the Obama Administration's Justice Department (DOJ) to pressure its employees to affirm homosexuality. Matt Staver of the Liberty Council, a Virginia-based conservative legal advocacy group, reported that the DOJ employee provided his group with a brochure, entitled LGBT Inclusion at Work: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Managers, that was e-mailed to all DOJ employees. The DOJ has become a stronghold of homosexual activism over the past few years, and its internal policies regarding embracing LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) behavior will doubtless increasingly permeate the entire federal workforce.

    While the seven LGBT-affirming points delineated in the brochure are not overtly put forth as required behavior of DOJ staffers, they certainly come across as strong recommendations for managers — and by cross-pollination, employees — of the federal law enforcement bureaucracy. The memorandum warns DOJ staff to “assume that LGBT employees and their allies are listening to what you're saying (whether in a meeting or around the proverbial water cooler) and will read what you're writing (whether in a casual email or in a formal document.” The implication is unmistakeable: DOJ employees are to be forewarned that their language must be “inclusive and respectful” of LGBT persons and might even be used against them if it is not.
    The brochure warns that the words “husband” and “wife” are too “gender specific” for a LGBT-affirming work environment, and should be replaced with such terms as “partner,” “significant other,” and “spouse.” Also out are terms like “gay lifestyle” and “sexual preference,” having been determined at the highest levels of homosexual activism to constitute inappropriate or disrespectful attitudes.
    The memorandum strongly recommends that DOJ staff acknowledge a homosexual employee's unique lifestyle in an affirming manner. “DO ask LGBT employees about their weekend, their spouse/partner, or their family/children,” it encourages, just like one would show interest in the lifestyle of a normal, non-homosexual person. “DO acknowledge important events in an LGBT employee's life,” like a same-sex marriage, the birth of a child, or other normal life functions, “in the same way you would for a heterosexual employee” — “heterosexual” apparently having not yet made the banned-word list.
    DOJ managers are encouraged to display “a symbol in your office (DOJ Pride sticker, copy of this brochure, etc.) indicating that it is a 'safe place'” for homosexuals to congregate. DOJ Pride is the homosexual lobby hard at work in the Department of Justice, and the group responsible for the intimidating memorandum.
    Managers are also strongly encouraged to make sure homosexual employees get a foot up on advancing through the ranks of DOJ employees. While lip service is given to “merit” as the sole issue in an employee's advancement, the focus of the document is clearly on pushing for the treatment of homosexuals as the DOJ's favored “diversity” group.
    “Creating a work environment in which LGBT employees feel welcome and included has been shown to boost the performance and productivity of LGBT and non-LGBT employees alike,” the DOJ Pride-produced epistle claims. Managers, of course, are key to compelling all employees to enthusiastically affirm homosexuality and to ensure that the LGBT culture permeates the entire DOJ atmosphere.
    Subtle pressure by supervisors on employees who may be inclined to consider homosexuality as unhealthy and detrimental — Christians, for example — is to be preferred over filing grievances or turning to federal rules implemented for “protected” classes of employees like homosexuals. “Managers have a more direct impact on workplace climate for employees including lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender employees, than nondiscrimination and EEO policies,” the brochure points out.”
    No other “classes” of DOJ employee other than LGBT are mentioned in the brochure, and it is clear that any suggestion of moral opposition to their behavior is unacceptable, Liberty Counsel said in a press release exposing the LGBT brochure. “No longer can Christians quietly dissent or remain neutral to same-sex sexual relationships,” Liberty Counsel warned. “Now the DOJ is requiring federal employees to affirm sexual behaviors that every major religion throughout history has deemed immoral.”
    The brochure includes quotes from LGBT employees whose behavior others are now required to affirm, including a man who is convinced he is actually a woman. “I want people to understand that I'm real,” the “transgender” man is quoted as saying. “I want to be recognized as the gender I really am.... Just imagine if people were constantly debating YOUR bathroom privileges. Imagine how humiliating that would be.”
    Liberty Counsel's Matt Staver said the DOJ campaign is the latest in the Obama administration's efforts to force the acceptance of homosexuality on the nation as a whole. “This Administration is pushing the most radical, immoral agenda on the American people,” Staver said. “Christians are not merely required to 'shut up,' but now they are being coerced to embrace immorality that goes against their sincerely held religious beliefs.”
    Staver said that Liberty Counsel will join with other groups and individuals to “do whatever is required to stand for religious freedom amidst this religiously intolerant Administration.”

    Education Bill to Give Special Protection to Homosexual Students

    The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) was first signed into law in 1965 by President Lyndon B. Johnson. In 2001, President George W. Bush helped to revamp the ESEA and gave it the name No Child Left Behind Act. Bush’s version of the statute expired in 2007. Since its expiration, Congress has made a number of attempts to pass another revision of No Child Left Behind, but as yet, all attempts have failed.
    Earlier this month, Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA) introduced another massive version of the education bill. His bill covers 1,150 pages and like so many huge bills, contains hidden items that most people would never notice until it’s too late. In Harkin’s case, the hidden provision starts on page 694 and lays out plans to protect LGBT students from bullying.
    The bill goes so far in protecting gay and lesbian students that any school that does not take the necessary steps to prevent bullying and harassing of gay and lesbian students could have their funding cut off. The bill says nothing about cutting the funding from schools that allow the bullying and harassing of normal student or Christian students, or Jewish student, just gays and lesbians.
    Once again we see where gays and lesbians are after preferential treatment, not equal treatment. In fact, it is socially acceptable to bully and harass straight, Christian and conservative students, but it’s not okay to give the same bullying treatment to gay, lesbian, Hispanic or Muslim students.
    Mission America President Linda Harvey says that there are two distinct issues involved in the education bill provision, but they are being confused into one issue when they are not. In an interview with OneNewsNow, Harvey said:
    "One is the open expression of homosexuality; and the second is kindness and civility. Our children all deserve kindness and civility, and that can happen even if they are learning homosexuality is wrong. And they're trying to combine the two and say that they are the same thing."
    "The federal government getting involved in education in the first place is a very unwise and uncomfortable idea for most families in America. There's no reason that we shouldn't keep education at the local level."
    I’m all for education, but ever since the federal government started getting involved with it, the quality and success of education has continued to decrease to dangerously low levels. I only hope and pray that Harkin’s rendition of No Child Left Behind and the special protection for gay and lesbian students never makes it out of the Senate.

    Buried in the proposed rewrite of the nation's massive education law are protections for gay and lesbian students that its supporters liken to the landmark 1972 protections for the rights of female athletes in high school and college.
    Senate Democrats on Tuesday released a 1,150-page revision of the law governing the nation's elementary and secondary schools, formally known as the Elementary and Secondary Education Act but more commonly called No Child Left Behind.

    In it, they include student nondiscrimination language that, if passed, would threaten schools' funding if gay and lesbian students are bullied or harassed.
    The supporters praised the language as similar to Title IX, the federal law chiefly known for mandating gender equity in high school and collegiate sports.
    The legislation's text on gays and lesbians begins on Page 694 of the massive school bill.
    "This is a significant moment for our nation's education system and one that addresses the vital needs of all students in K-12 schools," said Eliza Byard, executive director of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. "We are thrilled that the Senate is moving to address the long overdue issue of school bullying and harassment. This bill includes critical components to ensure safer learning environments."
    The bill bans discrimination against students who are gay — or who are perceived as gay — in any program that receives federal education dollars. Schools that do not provide sufficient protection to gays and lesbians could find their dollars cut.
    "No child should dread going to school because they don't feel safe," said Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn. "Our nation's civil rights laws protect our children from bullying due to race, sex, religion, disability and national origin. My proposal extends these protections to our gay and lesbian students who shouldn't ever feel afraid of going to school."
    Two years ago, Franken offered a similar provision to the same education bill and likened it to Title IX expansion of athletic opportunities for girls and women.
    At the time, Sen. Tom Harkin, chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, wanted the rewrite to have bipartisan support coming out of his committee. Franken withdrew the provision.
    The full Senate did not vote on the 2011 bill.
    This time, Harkin, D-Iowa, applauded the protections "because every child deserves a safe and healthy place to learn."
    "These provisions will help to ensure that all students, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, are treated fairly and afforded equal opportunities to succeed in the classroom," Harkin said.
    The provision was not highlighted in the news release announcing the bill, which would rewrite parts of the 2001 law to give states greater flexibility in improving schools.
    Harkin's committee planned to start work on the bill on June 11, but Democratic aides said the bill had not yet been scheduled for consideration by the full Senate. Aides suggested it could be autumn before it reached all senators.
    The gay protections are a minor part of the sweeping bill that governs all schools that receive federal dollars for poor, minority and disabled students and those whose primary language is not English.
