English as National Language Alert 3/13/08

Senate may vote on official English this week
Alexander's Save the Salvation Army Amendment Back

This afterrnoon, Senator Lamar Alexander offered a new amendment to protect the Salvation Army (and other employers) from being sued for requiring their employees to speak English while on the job.

The Alexander amendment to the Senate Budget Resolution (S.Con.Res.70), if passed, would take $650,000 from the budget of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (the amount the EEOC has spent filing language rights lawsuits) and transfer those funds to programs to help adults learn English.

The EEOC's 2007 lawsuit against the Salvation Army is particularly offensive because a similar lawsuit filed against the Salvation Army in that very same Massachusetts courtroom was rejected in 2003.

The Salvation Army could allow its employees to remain huddled in their little linguistic ghetto. (It would be cheaper.) Instead, the Salvation Army insists that its employees learn the American language so they might look forward to a future beyond sorting old clothes.

Your two Senators need to hear from you right away.

Using EEOC funds to support Senator Lamar's LAUDABLE amendment instead of suing AMERICAN businesses for requiring ENGLISH on the JOB is FAR BETTER!

Well well, Senator Lamar Alexander is one of the good guys.

    About darn time!

I'm so sick of foreigners using their language to alienate Americans from them and their lives.

9/11 hits and our government continues to do dumb things that hinder our safety.

Doesn't anyone in Washington remember that Americans were threatened throughout the world for decades before 9/11 hit?

This is nothing new that just happened.

And now Mexico's hostilities among their good citizens are doing exactly what the terrorists have done while they've done their hostile acts against our Americans, and those that are with us in this fight.

Mexico's hostile bunch are now covering their faces, so they won't be identified, just like the terrorist do. Beheading their targeted victims. Coming into America and kidnapping those that they eventually behead.

Get a book called "Because They Hate" by Gabriella (I don't recall the spelling or if that is her first or last name). She tells how one nation (or group) of people infiltrated Lebanon in the 1960's, repopulated their race among the Lebanese, then after they had grown in numbers and decades later turned on the God fearing Christian Lebanese with guns, military tanks, full military militia type gangs, held regular road blocks where they demanded to see drivers licenses (their religion is on their drivers licenses in Lebanon) and then murdered them in their own nation.

See any similarities with that history in Lebanon, and how it's happening piece by piece in the U.S.A.? Mexico Military tanks come into the U.S.A. daily, and may of our Congress know this because several of them (Rep. Brian Bilbray being only one) have given talks of what they have seen with their own eyes on our southern border.
