Thread: Feds arrest dozens of illegal immigrants in New Haven raids

The Department of Homeland Security conducted an early morning raid of undocumented immigrants in New Haven on Wednesday, arresting dozens and prompting city officials to decry what they believe to be federal retaliation for city’s approval Monday of the first-in-the-nation municipal ID program.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents made 29 arrests Wednesday, according to a spokeswoman for the agency, and city officials said they expect more arrests over the course of the next two weeks. The officials described it as the first-ever mass arrest of illegal immigrants in recent New Haven history, but the ICE spokeswoman says the arrests are not politically driven and are “routine.â€

I hope it was in retaliation.

Does it matter if it was a retaliation? These people broke the law and were punished for it. Where is the problem?

Looks like the Feds wanted to keep the illegals away from New Haven 24 hours after ALIPAC launched a national campaign to send the illegals to New Haven.

While the feds may have thwarted our plan to deluge New Haven with illegals, they have now done us an even bigger favor!

Since the illegals will hear about the welcome to New Haven message, followed by the Stay Away from New Haven message, this will build up distrust and aid our plan to destroy this legislation if it is ever signed into law.

There is only ONE WAY OUT for the lawmakers and feds.

Turn back from your course of Open Borders and stand with the American public against this invasion!

We will continue telling the illegals to come to New Haven. Let them scratch their heads at the conflicting information created by ICE and the New Haven city leaders!

This would be a great strategy for the Feds to continue but I doubt they could sustain anything worthwhile for very long. Hit every sanctuary city since you know masses of illegal aliens are there. You get a lot of fish with little bait. Then any city, mayor or administrator of a town that shoots off his mouth that his municipality welcomes illegal aliens...conduct a cattle roundup there as well. Targeted enforcement against illegal aliens is a beautiful thing. Nothing like bringing the illegals out of the shadows... in handcuffs.

The feds are only doing these raids to satisfy us for now. After the bill passes, if, then the raids will be moot. Don't think that Chertoff is finally doing his job..he's just another jerk that's in the pocket of Bush Pile.
