With you in So. Calf. you most likely saw it hit first and even harder then other parts of the country. I used to have to travel to there for work about 5 times a years so I have seen how attitudes and influences of Latinos dominate large segments of your state. I am deeply concerned about race relations with obama being POTUS. I took an Africana Studies course for two semesters in college. I wanted to find out where blacks got all the anger from....what makes the "angry Black man" tick. I got more than I bargained for. Of course I was one of about 2 other white kids in there and the teacher showed an obvious bias for the black students (she was a terrible teacher anyway) and I quickly learned not to ask too many questions if any at all. I felt that the black kids in the class had the upper hand and they knew it. All this gloating from these black pastors and the like is really starting to get old. No one acknowledges the "white" side of obama. I wonder if his skin color was a few shades darker if he'd have even had a chance....Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

11-10-2008, 02:12 PM #14I too believe most of our economic problems in this country are caused by the illegals aliens.
As to the economic problems, most of those have been driven again by corrupt political and business leaders promoting scams such as Credit Default Swaps, sub-prime mortgages, illicit hiring of illegal aliens (which take jobs away from citizens while also promoting billions of dollars to leave the country as remittances), and hiring inordinate numbers of legal aliens via the visa programs without verifying the need for the skills nor the number (which takes jobs away from citizens while also promoting billions of dollars to leave the country as remittances.) The latter adds insult to injury because the ranks of illegal aliens are swelled by the deliberate failure of the government to ensure legal immigrants leave the country when visas expire."We have met the enemy, and they is us." - POGO

I think that people do care and notice what is going on with the illegals, but the open borders nuts have locked the media down by playing the race card so they don't report the full spectrum to the people. But if the word was reported everyday people would be as mad as us, and we might have a big enough voice to send em packin but we need more support!

Here's something to ponder. Why is no one speaking of the huge price reductions in gasoline prices? When the prices were going through the roof, it was almost a daily headline. Yesterday morning I filled up 16 gallons to fill the tank in my little bronco II, and it only cost about $36.00. A month or so ago, it cost me close to $80.00 for the same ammount.
I said it at the time, and still belive that it was meant to consolidate wealth, by putting as many small business' like me out. And what a lot of folks don't get is that when things tank like they have, wealth is not lost. It's just consolidated into fewer hands. And one has to remember what IIRC John D. Rockefellar said, (or at least one of the Rocks) is that competition is sin.
I really believe since the effort to keep our borders closed was to get enough illegals in here to drive wages down, so the people would be forced to take jobs at slave rates, and have to work ungodly hours to make ends meet for a basic simple existance.
Since closing down my business, I have been putting apps in all over town for driving jobs and semitechnical jobs, and everyplace I go wants to know if I can work any shift, and be on-call for weekends and holidays. Since I have my daughter to raise, it's hard for me to do that, but since I put down no I can't, and for that reason, I have yet to get called for work. And it's getting to point that I'm almost willing to say yes to the shift and holiday crap just to get a job, and when asked, say I can't and risk termination for doing it.

I have said this before on other sites and maybe this one as well.
What will have to happen for the majority of people to realize the gravity of this situation, is something will have to happen to them personally. People in this day and age ignore their surroundings until their surroundings hit them square in the face. This is the time they take notice.
With the way the economy is right now, and destined to get worse in the very near future, all the people who have fought us at every turn may be the next ones losing their jobs. When this happens, they will start to see the light, they will see the problem with finding a job, they will become frustrated, desperate, and they may even see someone who may not speak English working in a job they now feel they must have in order to survive, thus becoming more aware of the problems at hand. It should have never come to this point, but I will relish each and every minute watching the opponent scramble in fear to survive and in turn, join us.
But unfortunately, I honestly feel there will be someone, somewhere, who will take a much more drastic stand. I also honestly feel a drastic stand is what it will take to bring this issue to the light of ALL American's.
It matters not who is or was POTUS, the problems remain the same, and we must take a stand and correct the wrongdoing done to us all. Every year we say we need to rally, march in the streets, but never do. There are how many anti-illegal immigration sites out there? Yet we can't combine them for the good of the same cause.
I am in a relatively liberal city whose western border is California. Nevada is severely overlooked in most stats and data regarding illegal immigration, mainly because the casino industry somewhat relies on it and local officials hide it. Greed rules here in my parts. People here are afraid to voice opposition to the illegal alien, open-border movement. They simply hide their true feelings and it's come to the point of forcing a conversation just to draw them out. I am in the minority as far as this issue is concerned (outspoken), so I spend time everyday posting on run of the mill forums and blogs all over the US for the sole purpose of educating idiots.
I prefer the rough road.
I will bait then fight the worst supporter until they give up and can show no credible source to back-up their argument. Then I will drown them with credible facts and figures that show them to be "untruthful and dishonest" in their portrayal of “theirâ€Have you ever stopped to think, and forget to start again?
