GOP> Energy Revolt Could Last Up Until DNC Convention

House GOP Leaders Call in Reinforcements-- Say Energy Revolt Could Last Up Until DNC Convention

    While Democrats are vacationing...

...House GOP members are protesting against the Democratic Party's block on US energy development and drilling.

The House GOP leaders called in reinforcements for their energy protest today and say they could carry the revolution up until the start of the DNC Convention!
    The Hill reported

In an e-mail sent to House Republican aides on Tuesday, the office of Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) stated, GOP Leadership in the House is requesting that all Republican Members join in the debate at some point this week, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, and 10:00 a.m. Friday. We hope to finish the week as strong as we started.

Leadership officials said they see no foreseeable end to the protest that began as an impromptu series of floor speeches after the House officially adjourned last week. And after three days of a handful of rank-and-file members holding down the fort, Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and House Republican Conference Chairman Adam Putnam (R-Fla.) are expected back in town Wednesday, when they will meet with former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) to discuss strategy before taking to the floor to resume the protest.

Michael Steel, a spokesman for Boehner, said they have enough commitments from members to carry them through Friday. Aides say the mock sessions of Congress could last up until the Democratic convention, which begins Aug. 25.

Meanwhile... A US GOP House Leader, Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.), blasted "Beijing Bush" on Tuesday for not calling Congress back into session to deal with the national energy crisis.
    The Hill, via Instapundit, reported

A House Republican leader is lambasting President Bush on his decision not to call Congress back into session to deal with the energy crisis.

In a legislative update sent to GOP members and staff on Tuesday, Republican House Policy Committee Chairman Thaddeus McCotter (Mich.) accused "Beijing George" Bush of throwing House Republicans "under the bone-dry bus" on his way to the Olympics in China.

McCain's slogan, at least according to his website is: "Country First."

    http://www.johnmccain.com/

All well and good in light of Obama's pandering to other nations, but McCain needs to pay attention to the wishes of all U.S. Citizens.

The GOP has called for renewed drilling of our oil resources and the Socialist/Globalist factions of the Democratic party are preventing it. Obama has waffled on the subject, at first being against it, but realizing that it is what most U.S. Citizens want, he offers a lukewarm compromise which would still prevent our nation from being energy self-sufficient.

What McCain really needs to realize is that one of the most important factors in making our country first is to secure our borders and preventing people from coming into this country illegally. Amnesty will not work. It was the Amnesty of President Regan that has contributed to the virtually out of control situation we have now. The fact is that we can control the Illegal Aliens situation and we are gradually doing it by speaking up for self-control of this nation once again. It can and will happen! McCain needs to know that Illegal Immigration is not acceptable. May Day Marches with the openly card-carrying signs of Socialist and Marxist support of Illegal Aliens is not acceptable. Murder and violence perpetrated by Illegal Aliens is not acceptable. Economic vampirism by Illegal Aliens is not acceptable and something has to be done about it now.

Obviously, Obama wants open borders, Global supremacy over the United States, the creation of a Global tax at U.S. Taxpayers' expense, making our Social Security into a Global welfare system, among many, many other such travesties. At least the GOP has our country in mind first, but the Globally controlled news media doesn't promote that.

I was a Democrat for most of my life, but left the party in 2003 when it became apparent and proven to me that the Socialist Party, namely the Democratic Socialist Party of America, had made significant inroads into the infiltration of the Democratic Party. They even bragged about it on their website at the time and touted Richard Gephardt as the best candidate for "progress," which to them, is a euphemism for the establishment of the Socialist/Marxist agenda. I found that website while making an online research into Gephardt after receiving some unreasonable "edicts" from his offices from 2000 through 2002. I shall have nothing to do with Socialism nor Marxism, so I printed out the DSAUSA braggadocio, stuffed it into the return envelope to the Gephardt office, and told him and the Democratic Party exactly where they can stuff the Socialists and the Marxists who are looking to him and the Democratic Party for progress.

As Americans, we all have to be very wary about the candidates of this election; perhaps more so than ever before, but I can tell you right now that I shall not vote for a candidate like Obama whose political agenda is vague and untrustworthy, not to mention outrageous by his practice of blatantly pandering to other nations for his support, instead of putting his own country's citizens first.

If only we can convince McCain, in a straight-forward but honorable way without sarcasm and with mindful criticism, exactly how important it is for the progress of the American Citizens that Illegal Immigration must be stopped in its tracks before it opens us up to all kinds of problems in addition to what it has caused us already; then perhaps he would gain more support in his campaign.

At this point, a third candidate would only upset the voting... it would only take away votes which would go to one of the two candidates who are in the forefront of the election process.

As we all know, ending the Illegal Immigration problem is critical to our national, economic and homeland security. This, in itself, is what the most valid Presidential candidate should focus upon.
Remember that*all Politicians work for us, the U.S. Taxpaying Citizens.* If they are not doing their jobs to your liking, FIRE THEM in the next elections.

    A great post MarkM!

And you are so right about McCain .. if we could somehow convince him what we already know ... he would have a chance.
