Write Romney in, anyone at this point, show your disgust, and call the GOP, as well, someone left a link called "gopteaparty.com". We need to let them know that McCain is nt a viable choice and although he and so many have assumed he is "in", they need to know we simply do not approve (and BTW, my state, Oregon, has yet to EVEN have our primary, what's really left for those of us here to vote for in that even?).

We made a LOT of noise in May and June about Comp. Immigration Reform, we can do it again, we DO have the power to turn McCains little world upside down, and not in the usual "I'll just vote democrat, or not at all" way, do it by working to keep his prize from him AT ALL!!!!

    Suck it up!
Obama is the farthest left Senator there is. So yeah Hillary is better. Maybe she's only in the top ten lefties. You can not win with these guys on the issue of illegal immigration.

Hillary's proclivity for ducking and dodging could possibly play to our advantage. Fundamentally she is a very pragmatic and calculating person, but her constant testing of the political waters compels her to be all things to all people. She's like a political shapeshifter in that way.

While it might be her preference to grant amnesty to the millions of illegals here, I'm not convinced she'd want to take on the opposing forces rignt away. I tend to think her support for amnesty is motivated by a desire to establish a huge voting bloc that will solidify Democrat control in Washington for many years to come; not from a desire to perpetuate the wellspring of cheap labor. I don't think she's impractical enough to believe the latter is sound economics for the long-term, and if presented with enough evidence of its impact on American wages and job security, she might be more amenable to listening to us. I see at least some leverage here, allthough we know there will be larger forces at work than Hillary who will continue to challenge us---and her. I think Obama poses a much bigger challenge for us. What concerns me about him is that he seems to rely on a cult of personality, if you will, to bring people around to his way of thinking. In the name of unity, he appears intent on erasing the issue from our minds, not debating it.

Mind you, we're in for a serious battle whatever the outcome of this election, so we need to look at these candidates individually, and how we might anticipate and preempt or trump their moves.

    Hi Saki
Your thought and logic seems sound as always. However, I don't think Hillary will have the luxury of listening to us. I think China and Asia has her ear. China is sending a billion dollars a day in here now and Hillary has big, expensive socialist plans. She's going to need more money than we can turn over. China is risking revolution by financing us while ignoring the needs of her Third world citizens. They are expecting their promised payoff. That would be a huge overpopulated consumer continent. No?

This is precisely what I was referring to when I mentioned larger forces at work, and I agree with you completely about China.

No, she would wait to see if she has a chance to get a second term, as Bush did, then she would deal with it, by giving them what they wanted when she was a in her final presidential months, then no amount of opposition would stop her.

Hillary is NOT, I repeat, NOT a viable candidate, no matter what her chances seem to be right now.

Neither McCain, Hillary or Obama are even within the range of good choices.

You are right, but one of these 3 is going to be elected. Therefore, we have to think of which one will do the least damage, which one can we manipulate, which ones will push for the most for illegals during their first term, etc.

Hillary has a much better grasp of any issue than Obama, who is a policy lightweight. He's an ultra-liberal who's winning the Democrat primaries just by appealing to liberal white guilt.

As it stands now, the illegal immigration battle can only be won in congress.
